Danish FM Lars Løkke Rasmussen during his visit to Israel stated that Denmark is concerned about the number of civilians killed, and thinks a ceasefire in Gaza should urgently be implemented.
🇩🇰🇷🇺❗️ OOOPS: The tanker Eventin, carrying nearly 100,000 tons of Russian oil, is reportedly heading toward Danish waters after suffering an engine failure last week that left it unable to maneuver independently.

According to the German news agency dpa, the German authority for waterways and shipping in the Baltic Sea (Wasserstraßen- und Schifffahrtsamt Ostsee) confirmed that the ship will be towed towards Skagen. Last week, German authorities intervened when the ship's engine failed off the coast of Rügen, leaving it adrift in the Baltic Sea. The tanker was en route from Russia to Egypt.

The tanker, registered in Panama, is part of Russia's "shadow fleet," which uses vessels with unclear ownership structures to transport oil that would otherwise face sanctions.

Australia's government expressed deep concern over Meta's decision to end fact-checking on Facebook and Instagram in the U.S., fearing it will fuel misinformation, said Treasurer Jim Chalmers. He called the move "very damaging" to democracy and mental health.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced plans to replace fact-checking with community-based posts, sparking backlash. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese urged social media companies to take responsibility, stressing the need for accurate information.

Australia has led efforts to regulate social media, banning users under 16 and introducing penalties for harmful content. However, plans to fine platforms for spreading misinformation stalled in parliament.

While Meta's decision affects U.S. operations, Australian fact-checking programs like AAP FactCheck remain unaffected. AAP CEO Lisa Davies emphasized the critical role of fact-checkers in safeguarding democratic debate and public trust.
