Borrell calls for transforming the EU from an economic bloc into a military one

The head of European diplomacy was prompted to this idea by the results of the presidential elections in the United States. He called on EU countries to strengthen security and "take their own destiny into their own hands."

"It is not enough to say that NATO should protect us and the EU should only deal with economic issues. The EU must show ambition and develop its own military strategy. The EU must play a military role,"
