Poland has received the first batch of South Korean K2 Black Panther tanks under its latest $6.7 billion defense deal with Hyundai Rotem.

Under the second contract, Poland is acquiring 180 K2 tanks. The first 28 vehicles have already been delivered and assigned to the 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division.

This brings Poland’s K2 fleet to 208 tanks.

The new deliveries are part of Poland’s broader military rearmament program, launched following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and focused on rapidly expanding the country’s fleet of modern armored vehicles.

The first contract covered 180 K2GF tanks, all of which Poland received by the end of 2025. The second phase now focuses on gradually increasing the local production and integration of the K2 platform.

Under the latest agreement, Poland will receive:

• 116 K2GF tanks in 2026–2027;
• 64 K2PL tanks in 2028–2030.

The K2PL is tailored to the requirements of the Polish Army and features a greater share of domestic production. Of the 64 K2PLs, 61 are expected to be assembled in Poland at the Bumar-Łabędy plant in Gliwice using Polish components.

The contract also includes a comprehensive support package comprising:

• 25 K2-based armored engineering vehicles;
• 25 armored bridge layers;
• 31 repair and recovery vehicles;
• ammunition;
• personnel training;
• technology transfer.

The Vatican and the CIA are in Moscow at the same time; I don't know what's going on, but it's no small matter.
