Not all worship is the same, even if it looks identical on the outside. Two people may stand in the same prayer, yet what drives them can be completely different.

Some worship out of fear. Others worship seeking reward. Both have value, but they are not the highest.

As Imam Ja’far Al Sadiq (peace be upon him) taught, the highest form of worship is the worship of the free; those who worship Allah out of love.

A love that is not driven by fear, and not dependent on reward; but a love that comes from truly knowing Him (swt).

So when you stand before Allah (swt), pause and ask yourself:

Is it fear that moves me? Is it reward that I seek? Or is it love that brings me here?

Because in the end, it is not how much you worship, but why.

An excerpt from the guidance of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani (may God preserve him) to the believers during the time of occultation:

"Let them be mindful of his (AS) suffering during his occultation, as he witnesses the injustice and corruption present everywhere, and his longing to be manifest so that he may rectify what has deviated in God’s religion and establish justice among His servants.

And let them know that all of them are the subject of his care and attention. He is more compassionate toward them than their fathers and mothers. He is concerned with their affairs and conditions, and he attends to them with supplication and care. It is fitting that they seek intercession through his station in the fulfillment of needs and the removal of difficulties.

They should remain awaiting his reappearance, praying for relief for him and for the Ummah through his appearance, and preparing themselves for him through greater insight, certainty, and sincere obedience."
