Since 2001 we have been observers of what’s happening at the checkpoints and in the Occupied Territories on the West Bank.
Thousands of our published testimonies provide independent, reliable accounts of the repression suffered by Palestinians living under Israeli occupation.
The reports are accessible from the following list. You may search all the reports by inserting the search word that interests you.

593 checkpoints and roadblocks are scattered throughout the West Bank (OCHA 2020), 23 of which are intended for crossing into the State of Israel and only nine are on the Green Line. The checkpoints to Israel serve more than 100,000 Palestinians living in the West Bank every day (mainly to get to work

Privatizing the Occupation: How Israeli Corporations Came to Police the Palestinians – Mint Press

The process of transferring military operations to private security contractors commenced during the Second Intifada (Palestinian uprising against the Israeli state) from 2000 to 2005. An Israeli government decision handed over the powers to civilian and police control in 2005 and established the Crossing Points Authority as the body responsible for maintaining the checkpoints.

Many of the private companies operating at the checkpoints also provide security services to the illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank. In 2008, the Israeli military decided to transfer the security of 40 settlements to private security personnel. The military attributed its decision to the installation of army equipment having made the presence of soldiers in the settlements obsolete, and maintained that trained professionals would be able to offer better security than soldiers.

Who Profits is an independent research center dedicated to exposing
the role of the private sector in the Israeli occupation economy

Who Profits was founded in 2007 as a project of the Coalition of Women for Peace, and became an independent Research Center in 2013. Our work addresses the economy of the Israeli occupation through three areas of activity: we maintain an online database of complicit corporations; we operate a free online information center; and we publish regular reports and updates on the corporate aspect of the occupation.

Through these, we shed light on the role of the private sector in the Israeli settlement enterprise, in economic exploitation of Palestinian and Syrian land, labor and resources, and in the apparatus of control over the occupied population.

The Role of Big Tech in the Israeli Occupation Economy – whoprofits – May 2023

The operation of these companies is both enormous and diverse in scale. In some cases, a company is involved in the implementation of a major project for the Israeli military, while in others, companies provide software or equipment for the operation of a broader system. Regardless of scale, the work of these companies bolsters the capacity of an already highly technological and data-oriented Israeli occupation economy and its capacity to dispossess, repress, control and subject Palestinians on both sides of the Green Line to pervasive surveillance.

In this Dynamic Report, Who Profits centralizes the profiles of the Tech MNCs uploaded on its database of companies facilitating Israel’s violations of the human rights of occupied Palestinian and Syrian communities.

Incorporated companies: #Microsoft, #Cisco #Systems, #IBM, #Dell Technologies. Follow the links to see the companies’ full profiles.

Private Security Companies and the Israeli Occupation
In-depth Report
| Jan 2016

Private security companies in Israel play an active role in the occupation of Palestinian land and control over Palestinian people. Private security guards operate checkpoints and guard settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. These security guards have policing powers, they bear arms and are entitled to use force in performing their duties. In the settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, the private security guards, who are hired by the state of Israel to guard the settlements, de facto serve as a private police force that serves the settlers population. The employment of private security guards enables state authorities to provide security services only to the settlers, without acknowledging or meeting the security needs of the Palestinian communities around the settlements. This situation creates an inherent inequality between the Palestinian and the Jewish population in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
UN Blacklists 112 Businesses that Enable Israeli Occupation of Palestine - Palestine Chronicle – 2020

The United Nations human rights office (OHCHR) has finally released a long-delayed report, on Wednesday, listing over one hundred businesses that have ties with illegal Jewish settlements in the occupied Palestinian Territories.

Despite intense Israeli pressures to dissuade the institution from naming companies that benefit from the Israeli occupation, OHCHR revealed the identities of 112 businesses, 94 of which are based in Israel, while the rest operate in six other countries

Facts on the Ground Heavy Engineering Machinery and the Israeli Occupation
In-depth Report
| Jul 2014

Since the early days of the 1967 occupation, Israel has used heavy construction machinery in order to strengthen its hold over the Palestinian territories and Palestinian people by “establishing facts on the ground.” As the Israeli heavy machinery market is based on import, multinational corporations supply the local demand. This report will describe in depth how – in the hands of the Israeli army, Israeli authorities, settlers and corporations operating in the OPT – construction machinery became a vital component of the occupation mechanism.

Israel can monitor every telephone call in West Bank and Gaza, says intelligence source | Middle East Eye – 2021

Israel can listen to every telephone conversation taking place in the West Bank and Gaza, a former member of the Israeli Army’s elite signals intelligence unit 8200 has told Middle East Eye.

Every mobile or phone imported into Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing - in Gaza's south - is implanted with an Israeli bug, and anyone using the only two mobile networks serving the occupied territories - Jawwal and Wataniya - is being monitored as well, the former signals intelligence member said.

Google Is Selling Advanced AI to Israel, Documents Reveal – 2022

According to a trove of training documents and videos obtained by The Intercept through a publicly accessible educational portal intended for Nimbus users, Google is providing the Israeli government with the full suite of machine-learning and AI tools available through Google Cloud Platform. While they provide no specifics as to how Nimbus will be used, the documents indicate that the new cloud would give Israel capabilities for facial detection, automated image categorization, object tracking, and even sentiment analysis that claims to assess the emotional content of pictures, speech, and writing. The Nimbus materials referenced agency-specific trainings available to government personnel through the online learning service Coursera, citing the Ministry of Defense as an example
