Elbit Systems Ltd. is an Israel-based international defense electronics company engaged in a wide range of programs throughout the world. The company operates in the areas of aerospace, land and naval systems, command, control, communications, computers, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR), unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), advanced electro-optics, electro-optic space systems, electronic warfare suites, signal intelligence (SIGINT) systems, data links and communications systems and radios.

On 6 December 2017, Citizenlab published a detailed report that showed that Ethiopian dissidents and journalists in the US, UK, and other countries were targeted by sophisticated commercial spyware, sold and operated by Cyberbit, a wholly owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems

Elbit: Exporting Oppression from Palestine to Latin America – Upside Down World – 2014

The technology Elbit is using to profit off of the “Wall of Death” along the US-Mexico border was first deployed in Palestine along Israel’s Apartheid Wall. Stretching more than 700 kilometers when finished, and cutting through Palestinian farms and villages, blocking residents from their family and friends, healthcare, education, land and work, the Apartheid Wall is a key component of Israel’s settler-colonial project in the occupied West Bank. Elbit provides “intrusion detection systems” for the Wall. This involves the use of drones, armed Unmanned Ground Vehicles, and LORROS surveillance cameras. Elbit products are used in the Ariel settlement section as well as around Jerusalem and a-Ram.

Elbit Systems has frequently touted a major advantage over it's competitors: the fact that its products are “field-proven” on Palestinians. The company built surveillance sensors for Israel’s separation barrier through the West Bank, which has been deemed illegal under international law, as well as around the Gaza Strip and on the northern border with Lebanon and Syria.

Elbit is also one of the main contractors on a new kind of underground wall, still under construction, around the blockaded Gaza Strip. Elbit’s drones patrol the Mediterranean Sea as part of the European Union’s bid to seal off access to migrants from North Africa, and it has provided its technologies to militaries in Australia, Africa, Asia, Central America, and South America

Meet Blue Wolf, the app Israel uses to spy on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank | Middle East Eye – 2021

Cameras have long been an essential tool for Israel to monitor and watch Palestinians.
But these days, technology has advanced, with sophisticated facial recognition technology now used to screen Palestinians at military checkpoints.
But it's not just at checkpoints, according to a report in the Washington Post on Monday, which described a whole new level of surveillance in place across the West Bank called Blue Wolf.

Washington Post - 2021 - The Israeli military has been conducting a broad surveillance effort in the
occupied West Bank to monitor Palestinians by integrating facial recognition with a growing network of
cameras and smartphones, according to descriptions of the program by recent Israeli soldiers

In November 2021 the Washington Post published a stunning exposé on the use of 'Blue Wolf', a new mass surveillance system being operated by soldiers in the West Bank to photograph and collect sensitive personal information on local Palestinians. The story, which was brought to light thanks to several testimonies given by IDF soldiers to Breaking the Silence, represents a massive escalation in Israel's pursuit of control over the Palestinian civilian population in the West Bank, and raises some serious questions on the role of technology within the context of the occupation.

Breaking the Silence › Testimony › The point was to take photos – 2020

There’s a new program which is called Blue Wolf. Blue Wolf is this phone, like one of those old Samsungs, where you take a photo of the person’s face, his ID.

We go around, and it can be in all kinds of neighborhoods in Hebron, not necessarily Abu Sneineh, also when we would do static [posts] sometimes we saw it, suddenly someone arrives and [he’s] like, give me your ID, like, we’re taking a photo of you, and then it’s kept, and then if he arrives at the police or something like that then it just pops up immediately, his photo. And then also, when you do the Blue Wolf you can also get an option to detain, arrest, release, to check him.

Breaking the Silence › Testimony › The computer already knows them – 2020

A person arrives and goes through a security check. He gives me his ID. I put it into [the system]. If it goes green on the computer, he goes through a security check and moves on. If it goes yellow, I have to call... Yellow is unidentified, unknown, something like that. There’s this number you call, the division, the DCL (District Coordination and Liaison office, a regional unit of the Civil Administration), and they tell you what to do. And if it’s red, there’s the protocol. You lock down the whole turnstile [at the checkpoint], call to have him picked up because he’s wanted for arrest.

In addition to Blue Wolf, there is also White Wolf, a system reportedly set up in 2016 and used by Jewish settlers in the West Bank.

This technology allows a user to scan a Palestinian's identification card and check it against a database accessed by the Israeli army, Israeli intelligence, and settlement security departments.

From Pegasus to Blue Wolf: How Israel’s ‘Security’ Experiment in Palestine Became Global
BY RAMZY BAROUD -2021

In Gaza, two million Palestinians are living under an Israeli blockade. They are surrounded by walls, electric fences, underground barriers, navy ships and multitudes of snipers. From above, the tannaana, the Arabic slang word Palestinians have for unmanned drone, watches and records everything. At times, these armed drones are used to blow up anything deemed suspicious from an Israeli ‘security’ perspective. Moreover, every Palestinian wishing to leave or return to Gaza—with only a few who are allowed such privilege—is subjected to the most stringent ‘security’ measures, involving various government intelligences and endless military checks. This applies as much to a Palestinian toddler as it does to a terminally-ill woman.

How Surveillance Tech is Used to Oppress Palestinians Through #Apartheid - May 2023

The Israeli authorities are using an experimental facial recognition system known as Red Wolf to track Palestinians and automate harsh restrictions on their freedom of movement, Amnesty International said today. In a new report, Automated Apartheid, the organization documents how Red Wolf is part of an ever-growing surveillance network which is entrenching the Israeli government’s control over Palestinians, and which helps to maintain Israel’s system of apartheid. Red Wolf is deployed at military checkpoints in the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, where it scans Palestinians’ faces and adds them to vast surveillance databases without their consent.
