We, a small group of University of Tehran Alumni in Canada tried to collect information from different Canadian universities which waived application fees or offered different financial supports for Iranian applicants.

بر اساس مکاتبات صورت گرفته و جلسه فیمابین انجمن فرهنگی هما (انجمن ایرانیان ساکن سسکتون) و رییس تحصیلات تکمیلی دانشگاه سسکچوان، رییس تحصیلات تکمیلی دانشگاه عنوان کردند دانشجویانی که از ایران اپلای می کنند و از قبل موافقت استاد راهنما رو گرفته باشند، دانشگاه اپلیکیشن فی را برای ثبت نام این دانشجویان برمیدارد. لطفا اگر کسی یا کسانی را میشناسید که این شرایط رو دارند و از داخل ایران اپلای میکنه بهشون اطلاع بدید که میتوانند از طریق ارسال ایمیل به آفیس CGPS, درخواست ویو کردن اپلیکیشن فی را بدهند.
فقط حتما باید موافقت استاد راهنما رو داشته باشند.

Support for Iranian Applicants

Students from Iran comprise an important part of our current and future graduate student community. Given the current situation in Iran we are working hard to support Iranian applicants. Current supports available include:

1. If a supervisor/program is interested in considering an individual’s formal application and payment of the application fee is a barrier for the applicant, we can provide an application fee waiver.
(اگر موافقت اولیه دانشگاه یا پروگرم رو دارید. میتونید درخواست ویور رو بدید. در نظر داشته باشید این به این معنا نیست که قطعا موافقت میشه ولی دانشگاه تمام تلاشش رو میکنه که این امکان رو فراهم کنه. به اصطلاح "case-by-case" هست و بررسی و نتیجه فرد به فرد هست.)

2. If an Iranian applicant is struggling to access English language proficiency testing, we can provide a Duolingo waiver code.
(اگر مشکل در امتحان زبان رو دارید یا پروگرم شما امتحان زبان خاصی رو مد نظر داره، میتونید درخواست در نظر گرفتن آزمون دولینگو رو بدید.)


3. If an Iranian applicant’s referees are unable to submit reference letters online, we can work with the program to establish an alternative.
(اگر استادی که قراره برای شما توصیه نامه یا همون رفرنس لتر رو بفرسته لینک براش ارسال نمیشه یا مشکل داره تو باز کردن ایمیل یا هر مشکل دیگه...، دانشگاه میتونه راه جایگزین رو برای شما فراهم کنه.)


4. If an Iranian applicant is admitted and is having difficulties in getting their current or former institutions to send official documents to CGPS, we can discuss alternative options with the admitting program.
(اگر دانشگاهی که دارید درس میخونید یا درس خوندین با توجه به شرایط موجود امکان ارسال مدارک و ریز نمرات و دانشنامه رو نداره یا ممکنه زمانبر باشه، دانشگاه راه جایگزین رو در نظر میگیره براتون. (طبق تجربه دوستان اگر امکان ارسال مدارک توسط ایمیل از دانشگاهتون وجود داره، این راه ممکنه بشه به عنوان جایگزین ارسال از طریق پست استفاده بشه).)


5. Programs working with any Iranian applicants who are having difficulties with aspects of the application process are encouraged to reach out to their CGPS Program Advisor to discuss the ways in which we can support.

انجمن دانشجویان ایرانی دانشگاه ساسکاچوان قدردانی خودش رو از اساتید ایرانی دانشگاه ساسکاچوان به ویژه دکتر مشیری و دکتر دوکوهکی اعلام میکنه که چندین سری جلسه رو با دانشگاه داشتن.

🔴🔵 فاند استاد: بعضی اوقات استاد خودش یک سورس فاند داره و جایی منتشر نشده و شما فقط با ارتباط با اون استاد میتونید ازش مطلع بشید. حتی وقتی سورس اسکالرشیپ از دانشگاه میاد و بطور کمیته ای راجع بهش تصمیم گیری میشه حتما لازم هست که یک استاد شما را معرفی و تایید کرده باشه.

برای پیدا کردن استاد تمرکز شما باید روی استادهایی باشه که مشترکات بیشتری توی رزومتون با زمینه تحقیق استاد دارید. بهترین راه پیدا کردن چنین استادهایی وبسایت های Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, Research Gate و ... هست.
تو این وبسایت ها میتونین ترتیب مقالات رو براساس Recent قرار بدید. اینطوری میتونین مطمین شین که استاد مورد نظر اخیرا توی چه زمینه ای فعال بوده. از روی affiliation میتونین پیدا کنین کدوم نویسنده استاد و کدوم دانشجو هست.
مرحله بعد سعی کنین نه تنها به استاد مورد نظر ایمیل بزنین بلکه بقیه نویسنده هارو هم توی شبکه های اجتماعی لینکدین و توییتر دنبال کنید و به این ترتیب یه شبکه از متخصصای رشته تون پیدا میکنید. این Networking درصد موفقیت شمارو برای پیدا کردن پوزیشن خیلی بالا میبره.
