High-impact vulnerabilities in Firefox can be exploited to run malicious code

Mozilla has released Firefox 115, the latest update for the browser. The company states that this is the last Firefox version that users with Windows 7, Windows 8, or macOS older than 10.15 will be able to use.

The update patches 13 issues – four of which are tagged as high-impact vulnerabilities. All of these are security flaws that affect device memory. Exploitation of such vulnerabilities can lead to cybercriminals being able to run malicious code on target devices, corrupt user data, and shut down the target system.

Protect your devices by making sure you’re running the latest version of the Firefox browser. Normally, Firefox installs updates automatically, but you can manually check for them by clicking the triple bar button in the top right corner of the browser, selecting Help, then going to About Firefox. ኮምፒውተሮች ሽባ ሆነው ዋሉ፤

ዛሬ አርብ አያሌ ሆስፒታሎች፣ አየር መንገዶች፣ አነሥተኛ የንግድ ድርጅቶች እና የግል ኮምፒውተሮች ሳይቀሩ "ሰማያዊ ሰሌዳ" (Blue Screen) መስለው፣ ከአገልግሎት ጥቅም ውጪ ሆነው ውለዋል። በዚህም ሰበብ አየር መንገዶች በረራ አቋርጠው ተጓዦች ሲጉላሉ ውለዋል። ሆስፒታሎችና ሌሎች ድርጅቶችም ሥራ ፈትተው ውለዋል። አሶሼትድ ፕሬስ እንዳለው ከሆነ የችግሩ ሰበብ የሶፍትዌር ዕድሳት (software update) ነው።

"A faulty software update caused technological havoc worldwide on Friday, grounding flights, knocking down some financial companies and news outlets, and disrupting hospitals, small businesses and government offices" ነው ያለው።

CrowdStrike/ ክራውድስትራይክ የተባለ "cybersecurity firm/ ድርጅት" ነው የሶፍትዌሩ ባለቤት። ድርጅቱ ላይ የተከሰተው ችግር ደንበኛ መሥሪያ ቤቶቹ የሚጠቀሙት Microsoft Windows ላይ ችግር በመፍጠሩ ከአየር መንገድ እስከ ሆስፒታል ድረስ ሥራቸውን ለማቆም ተገድደው ውለዋል። ችግሩ አሁንም ሙሉ ለሙሉ አልተቀረፈም ::

የዓለማችን አብዛኛው ሀብትና ንግድ በጥቂት ድርጅቶች የሚንቀሳቀስ ስለሆነ አንድ ቦታ ችግር ሲፈጠር ሁሉም ተያይዞ ገደል ይገባል። የከፋ ችግር አይምጣ ነው እንጂ ቢመጣ ዓለማችን ምን ያህል ተጋላጭ እንደሆነ እያየነው ነው።
