Almost every national government in the world claims to be 'democratic', and yet people have never had this little control over their own lives. To blame certain groups, or even certain ideologies, is far-sighted and has gotten us nowhere. History has shown that the technological infrastructure of industrial society inevitably leads to stratification and inequality, among countless other societal issues.

Do YOU want to help put an end to the Techno-industrial system? Join the Wilderness Front today๐ŸŒฒ

Artificial intelligence has only been in the public sphere for a mere three years and it is *already* ruining people.

"By making it about individual corporate judgment, [Sam Altman of OpenAI] hides the fact that most harms are structural: in the case of AI, the platforms are designed to maximize engagement, extract data, and achieve efficiency. These features are determined in large part by competitive pressures and natural selection among rival AI companies that must competing for power to survive. It's literally baked into the whole ecosystem of a society with AI tools.

Do you also consider AI or technology as a whole a problem? Join us today and become part of the solution. ๐ŸŒฒ

And no, switching out your new phone for an old one will not fix your life. The problems of industrial society run much, much deeper than that.

The reason Gen Z sees life as unsatisfying and pointless is because it is. A life in an artificial environment isolated from wild Nature can never be truly satisfying, no matter how comfortable you might find it.

AUTONOMY โ€” the power to govern one's own life, which is now being systematically replaced by dependence on a vast, impersonal technological apparatus.

For Autonomy, For Dignity, For Wild Nature.

In the book "Limits to Growth, the 30 year update" group of analysts set out to discern the general behavior of global consumption and production, and what that behavior means for our future. They give an example of how if you throw a ball up in the air, anyone can describe its general path: up, pause, fall, impact. While th particulars require intense maths to determine, the general behavior and patterns are clear.

So in the World System they discovered some behaviors. Using data such as total global arable farmland, oil reserves and consumption, forests, and ocean populations they came to a very stark realization in the 1970s: The Globe was already beyond its limit of sustainable life.
In 2002, with newer models and computers, they refined their data and discovered that not only are we beyond limits, but that we are so far beyond limits that the momentum will carry us into complete societal collapse between 2050-2100.

Imagine a car driving down any road. If the driver is pursuing 3% speed growth per year like our economy demands, there are two outcomes: the car accelerates beyond reasonable control and crashes, or we take our foot off the gas.

In our current timeline, the car is just being upgraded, the deiver is being exchanged for better skilled and reactive systems but the car continues to go faster. The only end result is a catastrophic failure. No matter how good the driver or technology, too fast is too fast.

Global collapse is slated for 2050-2100, but I suspect as technology increases that will only push the timeline towards us. We will see the beginnings soon, if we don't already, with 3rd world countries failing first.

The White House has said that access to glyphosate - a literal carcinogenic chemical - is a matter of "national security".

If this is the kind of "security" technocrats offer us, what even is the point of living in a technological society?

ะขะตd ะš was right.

Inexplicably, Kevin O'Leary - yes the guy from 'Shark Tank' - is funding the construction of a massive data center in Utah which, when finished, will produce and consume more than twice the amount of energy the entire state produces.

The Box Elder County commission unanimously approved the data center despite thousands of local residents appearing to protest the motion.

When finished, the site will be 2.5 times the size of Manhattan.

This program simulates what the night sky will look like in 2036, when every current major satellite project is completed.

According to the program website, this includes:

- Communications (SpaceX Starlink, Amazon Leo, Guowang)
- Datacenters (SpaceX AI)
- Space mirrors (Reflect Orbital)

Note the brightness of some of the satellites. Rather than a raytracing glitch, this is an accurate portrayal of what Reflect Orbital's 'Space Mirror' project will look like.

Reflect Orbital intends on installing 50,000 satellites in the night sky by 2035, capable of reflecting 5 kilometer wide beams of sunlight to specific targets on the night side of earth.

We were taught that the past was brutal and opressive, and that it is naive to romanticize these times. However, in learning about pre-industrial societies, we learn that these societies allowed a much higher degree of autonomy than in the modern world. We were sold lies about how the past was embossomed with harsh and grindlingly long hours of labor, and how it was the machines that came and "liberated" us.
The idea that the past was miserable, is the inversion of the truth. It was only with the industrial revolution that slavery became the common state of mankind. We became slaves to the exponential increase of economy, slaves to progress, slaves to machines. We have became the tools of our own tools.

Reflect Orbital, a company ran by one Ben Nowack and based at 12727 S. Van Ness Avenue, Hawthorne, LA, advertises it's on demand sunlight reflection service for 'agricultural and emergency responder purposes' at a humble $5,000 an hour.

The company recently received a $1.25 million AFWERX SBIR Phase II contract with the United States military for "military installations".

"Technique has penetrated the deepest recesses of the human being. The machine tends not only to create a new human environment, but also to modify man's very essence. The milieu in which he lives is no longer his. He must adapt himself, as though the world were new, to a universe for which he was not created."

(Note: we do not support Friedrich Hegel).
In the grand scheme of things, we are all victims. Soy, antinutrients, plaque, and viscous chemicals run ample in our blood. It manipulates the very code that makes us, us. We are being weakened, made docile for whoever yells the orders next. Nothing is truly safe to eat anymore unless you exile yourself to a forest and physically choose and kill what enters your stomach โ€” or know someone who does that. When it comes to modern food, there is only really bad and sort of bad.

"We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature."
