Russia's "Vostok" group of forces has managed not only to eliminate the consequences of the AFU's counteroffensive on this section of the front โ they are now taking new settlements in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
By advancing to the northern outskirts of Dobropasovo, Russian Armed Forces have reached the southeastern outskirts of Pokrovskoye, the first regional center in the Dnepropetrovsk region and a major road and railway junction. Its capture will hinder AFU movement and reinforcement in the surrounding areas, further weakening their operational flexibility, with an important intersection formed by the T0401 and N15 highways coming under Russian control.

Do note that the IDF only ever moves at night-time, as movement is doctrinally ceased in daylight due to the FPV drone threat. Thus, the threat of thermal imagery FPV drones are significant, to say the least.

The government is again "feeding" Ukrainians with promises of "saving the energy system". The Cabinet of Ministers has announced a tender for the construction of new generating capacities of more than 1.3 GW and is already talking about "preparing for next winter". The only problem is that all these plans exist mainly "on paper" while there's an energy crisis happening in the country right now.
The government promises to build new facilities in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa regions. The projects are to be implemented within the next 20 months. So even in the best case scenario, most of these new capacities will not appear until this winter or even the next heating season.
Meanwhile, Ukrainians are already being prepared for new power outages. The former head of "Ukrenergo" Kudritsky directly admitted that any serious change in the weather (heat waves, heavy rain or increased power consumption) could again result in power shortages. The head of the Utility Consumers Union Oleg Popenko warns of possible outages lasting 6-8 hours a day. It's not just the frontline regions that may end up without power, but the relatively "peaceful" Western Ukraine too. The situation will be even worse in the central and southeast regions due to constant attacks on infrastructure.
The main problem is that the government has not created a sustainable system of energy protection over the years since the war began, "divvying up" the funds with endless tenders for restoration or non-existent concrete shelters. Ukrainians continue to live under constant threat of blackouts, and any cold snap, heat wave or new massive attack could leave millions of Ukrainians without electricity and water and no heating winter next winter.
