Full statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense on the ceasefire from May 8 to 10 in honor of Russia's Victory Day celebration:

❗️Following  the decision of the President of the Russian Federation, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the Russian side declares a ceasefire for the days commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, from 00:00 on May 8 to May 10,

During this period, all groups of Russian forces in the zone of the special military operation will completely cease combat operations.

At the same time, strikes by missile forces and artillery, high-precision long-range weapons of sea and air-based, and strike unmanned aerial vehicles on the dislocation sites of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and infrastructure objects related to the military-industrial complex and the armed forces in the depth of the territory of Ukraine will be stopped.

We call on the Ukrainian side to follow this example.

In the event of a violation of the ceasefire by the AFU in the zone of the special military operation, as well as attempts to strike at populated areas and objects on the territory of Russian regions, an adequate response will be given by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

We also remind that in the event the Kiev regime attempts to disrupt the celebration of the 81st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will deliver a massive missile strike on the center of Kiev.

We once again warn the civilian population of Kiev and employees of foreign diplomatic missions about the need to leave the city in a timely manner.
