The two points on that Google Maps screenshot show the crash site of the downed U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle in central Iran (lower black circle) and the location where the second crew member (weapons systems officer) was rescued by U.S. special forces (upper red pin at 32°13'16.9"N 51°54'04.8"E, near Shahrekord).

The measured distance between them is 107 miles.

What’s really sad is it wasn’t just a science place, it also had a Philosophy of Science department, and now parts of that are literally buried under rubble.

🧐 There are 3 options for this American operation:

1- Amircan forces landed there creating a temporary base and use it as a forehead center while searching for the pilot.

2- The operation was about something else other than rescuing the pilot.

3- A C-130 was shot down, and then other aircrafts were sent to the site to rescue the crews. (This option is unlikely)
