❗️China urges end to West Asia war, warns of global economic fallout
China on Friday urged an end to the war in West Asia, cautioning that it could disrupt global energy markets, shipping, and trade.
"History and reality have repeatedly shown the world that force is not the solution to problems and armed conflict will only breed new hatred," said Lin Jian, a spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry, when asked whether Beijing had a message for Muslim communities marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Lin added that the "still widening war" in West Asia is damaging the shared interests of all nations, reiterating China’s stance that all parties involved in the Gulf conflict should halt hostilities and ensure that energy supplies from the region remain uninterrupted.
