๐ท๐บ๐ค๐ฎ๐ท Russia has "every right to supply weapons to Iran if a corresponding decision is made," stated Yevgeny Primakov, head of Rossotrudnichestvo, speaking via video link at a roundtable discussion at the Russia House in Yerevan.
He justified this position by citing the current international situation. Primakov recalled that Moscow and Tehran have a strategic partnership agreement in place, which does not provide for military cooperation. However, he added, "given the US arms supplies to ukraine, Russia has the right to consider the possibility of supplying weapons to Iran."
At the same time, he pointed to the "practical aspect of the issue."
"Considering the ongoing hostilities, there is a risk of the destruction of the supplied weapons on Iranian territory," Primakov noted.
Commenting on the US and israeli military operation against Iran, Primakov stated that "what is happening calls into question the effectiveness of the negotiating formats mediated by Washington."

Regarding Iran, Primakov stated that the country "maintains sufficient internal stability," which, he said, "was confirmed during his recent visit to the country."
It's worth noting that today, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a conversation with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stated that Russia "is ready to provide all possible assistance to stabilize the overall situation" in the Middle East.
According to the Kremlin press service, the two leaders discussed "the unprecedented tragic events in the Middle East in the context of American-israeli aggression against Iran and Tehran's harsh retaliatory actions."
