Over three thousand years ago, ancient Egyptians constructed the Great Temple of Abu Simbel aligning it so that the sun would shine on the statue of King Ramesses II on the same date every year.
At the Grand Egyptian Museum, our team of architects and archeologists has successfully replicated this phenomenon so that the sun shines on the face of the colossal statue of King Ramses II at the Grand Hall on February 21st every year.
من عظمة المصريين القدماء أنهم إستطاعوا تشييد تمثال الملك رمسيس الثاني في معبد أبو سمبل بحيث تتعامد الشمس على وجهه في نفس التاريخ والتوقيت من كل عام احتفالًا بيوم تتويجه.
وقد نجح فريق المهندسين المعماريين والأثريين في المتحف المصري الكبير في محاكاة هذه الظاهرة وإقامة تمثال الملك رمسيس الثاني في البهو العظيم بالمتحف في زاوية من خلالها تشرق الشمس وتتعامد على وجه الملك يوم 21 فبراير من كل عام.
