The exhibition includes a collection of jewellery belonging to Queen Ahhotep from the 18th Dynasty, most of which were made of gold, such as a broad collar, a set of bracelets, a mirror, and a fan made of gilded wood. The exhibition also includes a sarcophagus belonging to a lady called Isis-weret from the 26th Dynasty, being displayed to the public for the 1st time.
Queen Ahhotep was the wife of King Seqenenre Tao II, a historical figure who led a war of liberation against the Hyksos, and the mother of kings Kamose and Ahmose. The latter successfully expelled the Hyksos from Egypt and established the 18th Dynasty.
