• Torschlusspanik: Is a German term literally meaning "gate-closing panic," referring to the fear that time is running out to achieve life goals.. “the gate” will close soon. “The gate” is a metaphor and it describes the fear of missing something because you…
Hysterical paralysis:
Or conversion disorder or functional neurological symptom disorder, is a non-organic loss of motor function, such as limb paralysis or difficulty walking, that is not caused by an underlying structural nerve disease. It is a mental health condition where psychological stress or trauma is converted into physical symptoms.

Misophonia:
Is a disorder characterized by intense, automatic fight-or-flight emotional and physical reactions (anger, disgust, panic) to specific, often quiet, repetitive sounds, most commonly chewing, breathing, or tapping. It is a neurological, brain-based condition, not a hearing issue, often beginning in childhood.
Brain studies show that in people with misophonia, the anterior insular cortex (AIC), which processes emotions and bodily sensations becomes hyperactive when hearing trigger sounds, interpreting them as direct threats.
There is an abnormal, intense connection between the brain's auditory system and the amygdala (the danger-detection alarm system).

Factitious disorder:
Or Munchausen syndrome,
Is a serious mental health and emotional condition in which people deceive others by pretending to be sick. They do this by faking symptoms, getting sick on purpose or hurting themselves. Factitious disorder also can happen when family members or caregivers falsely present others, such as children, as being ill, hurt or having a hard time functioning.
The primary drive is to assume the sick role and gain sympathy and attention, rather than tangible benefits like money or skipping work.
The Treatment is difficult because the person often denies the condition. It involves psychotherapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), to manage the emotional issues driving the behaviour.

New research has linked levels of vitamin D in midlife with toxic tangles of tau protein that accumulate in the brains of those with Alzheimer's disease. A statistical analysis of blood samples and brain scans from 793 adults showed that the more vitamin…
Reduced blood flow to the brain is thought to be a key factor in many forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's, and scientists have just identified a new mechanism regulating this flow, which may also help explain how it goes wrong.

Our imagination is Stretched to the atmost, not as in fiction to imagine things which are not really there, But to comprehend those things which are there..»

Huntington's disease (HD):
Is a fatal, inherited neurodegenerative disorder that causes progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain, typically presents as a triad of progressive psychiatric, cognitive, and motor symptoms. The earliest symptoms are often subtle problems with mood or mental/psychiatric abilities, which precede the motor symptoms for many people. Usually appearing in a person's 30s or 40s, symptoms include involuntary "dance-like" movements (chorea), cognitive decline, and psychiatric issues. While no cure exists, treatments manage symptom.

Somatization:
Is the expression of psychological distress, anxiety, or emotional trauma as physical (somatic) symptoms, such as pain, fatigue, or nausea, vomiting in the absence of a diagnosed medical condition. It is a common, often chronic, phenomenon where stress manifests physically, frequently leading to unnecessary medical visits and high healthcare utilization.
DYK that Long-term moderate caffeine consumption is associated with up to a 35% lower risk of dementia and Alzheimer's disease. It is thought to block adenosine, which helps important brain chemicals remain active and reduces toxic protein buildup.
And it may delay or reduce the risk of developing neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson's disease. As well as liver disease, and type 2 diabetes, while boosting alertness.

However, it can worsen anxiety, trigger sleep disruption, heartburn, GERD and cause digestive distress in those with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), temporarily raise blood pressure and heart rate. It may cause or exacerbate irregular heartbeats or heart palpitations.

Why neurology is beautiful? - perhaps There is no organ more central to human experience than the brain. It governs thoughts, emotions, memories, and our very sense of self. The study of how the brain controls every aspect of human existence is not only fascinating…
In the quiet corridors of medicine, no speciality stands closer to mystery than Neurology. Other branches of medicine often deal with organs that can be seen, touched, repaired, or replaced. The heart can be bypassed, the lungs ventilated, the kidneys filtered by machines. Yet the brain remains different—silent, hidden, and profoundly elusive. It is the only organ attempting to understand itself.
Neurology is not merely the study of disease; it is the study of consciousness, memory, thought, identity, emotion, and perception. A neurologist may explain where a lesion lies, identify which pathway has failed, or describe the electrical storm behind a seizure, yet still remain unable to answer the deeper question: why did it begin? Diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis continue to challenge modern science despite decades of research and astonishing technological progress. The more humanity uncovers about the nervous system, the more vast the unknown appears.
There is something almost philosophical about neurology. A damaged liver may alter chemistry, but a damaged brain can alter reality itself. A single microscopic lesion may erase a lifetime of memories, change a personality, or imprison a conscious mind within an unresponsive body. Within a network of fragile neurons lives every dream, fear, belief, and fragment of human existence. To study neurology is to stand at the border between biology and the soul.
And perhaps that is why neurology feels less like a completed science and more like an unfinished universe. Every answer opens the door to deeper questions, and every discovery reveals another layer of darkness waiting to be understood. The brain is not simply an organ inside the human body; it is the very thing that allows humanity to wonder about itself..

Alice in Wonderland Syndrome (AIWS):
AKA Todd’s syndrome, is a rare neurological condition that temporarily distorts your perception of size, shape, time, and spatial relationships. Named after Lewis Carroll’s famous 1865 novel. It causes individuals to experience surreal, dream-like shifts in reality.
Objects may appear abnormally small (micropsia) or disproportionately large (macropsia), or they may seem further away or closer than they actually are. Body Image maybe altered, they frequently report that their own body parts feel like they are swelling, shrinking, or changing shape.
Time can feel like it is speeding up significantly or moving in extreme slow motion. Sounds may seem abnormally loud or intrusive, and the environment or people's faces may appear tilted or skewed
AIWS is not a single disease, but a symptom constellation linked to underlying conditions. It is most prevalent in children & young adults.
