Exactly 177 years ago #OnThisDay in 1848, India’s first school for girls was started at Bhide Wada in #Pune by the great social reformer Mahatma #JyotiraoPhule and Krantijyoti #SavitriBaiPhule. It was Jyotirao who taught Savitribai to read & write.
