ATH Security — Official Statement April 10, 2026
Summary Aethir detected and contained a malicious exploit targeting our ATH bridge adapter contracts on alt chains. The core ATH supply on Ethereum Mainnet is fully intact. Affected users will be fully compensated.
A) What Happened
A malicious attacker gained unauthorized access to our ATH bridge adapter contracts. This allowed them to fraudulently mint ATH on Solana and Base chains, which in turn unlocked ATH that had been locked in the bridge adapter on Ethereum Mainnet — essentially draining that locked pool without touching the canonical supply.
The correct supply of 42,000,000,000 (42B) ATH canonical to ETH Mainnet was not affected in any way. This is the source of truth for all ATH supply and remains fully intact.
The ETH-ARB bridge on Squid is unaffected.
Upon detection, we immediately:
Delisted the compromised contracts from the Aethir User Portal
Coordinated with Stargate to disconnect the contracts on their side
Removed Foundation-provided DEX liquidity on ETH and SOL to limit further damage
Stargate and the Aethir team delisted and disconnected the compromised contracts immediately upon detection. Their response time was exceptional and helped contain the damage significantly.
B) Who Was Affected & Compensation
A total of approximately 13,300,000 ATH held by users on alt chains was affected by this attack. Users holding ATH on Ethereum Mainnet were not affected.
We will make all affected users whole. A claims process will go live next week. Details on eligibility, snapshot block, and distribution timeline will be published in a dedicated announcement.

C) Security Status & Next Steps
All compromised bridge adapter contracts have been permanently disconnected. We have confirmed that this specific attack vector does not exist in any other Aethir-deployed contracts.
We will not redeploy cross-chain bridge functionality until a full third-party security audit has been completed and published.
We are working with law enforcement and exchange partners to trace and freeze the stolen funds. The full attacker wallet list below is being shared with all major exchanges.
A complete public post-mortem will be published within 7 days.
