Despite my not particularly feeling Mother’s Day this year - I am well aware that I have quite a few Mothers on my channel. So, I am now going to take a moment to speak to them, if ya’ll don’t mind. ☺️

From the bottom of my heart - thank you to all of you who sacrificed so much of yourselves to bring life into this world, and then to nurture it, and guide it. Thank you from all of us sons, and daughters for the sleepless nights, taking care of us when we are sick, feeding us, clothing us, loving us, fighting for us, and giving your all for us. Thank you for your mother’s instinct - which kept a lot of us out of more trouble than we ever knew.

Thank you for cleaning the cuts, and applying the bandages. Not just for a scraped knee, but for the many a time hearts and souls were scraped by life and there you were, our mothers - standing with a firm hug and an “I love you” to see us back to reality.

Thank you all for understanding those times we’d come home drunk, or stoned, only to profess our being sober. You knew better - you ALWAYS knew, but you always let it slide so long as we weren’t a danger to ourselves or others.

Thank you for the discipline. For the spankings. For the groundings. For giving consequences to our actions - and always still providing that hug and “I love you” yet again after the fact.

Thank you for the shoulder to cry on, and the lap to rest our head on. Thank you for the unconditional love showered upon us from the moment of conception until the moment mother or child departs this plane.

Thank you for always having our backs, even when you know we are wrong. Thank you for always standing up to the lions, even though at times, you were woefully unarmed for such confrontations. Thank you for the tears you held in so we could smile. Thank you for the pain you shouldered so that we could be free of concern.

Thank you most of all, for all those times you watched your children be completely broken, and clueless, and scared of life, only to hold them, and say “it will be okay”. Thank you for all the times we were convinced we were failures, and you still supported us unequivocally with no questions. Thank you, Moms - for your love, and warmth.
