Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
I’m preparing for my nikah alhamdulillah and seek advice regarding the contract and if the conditions I want is already in the sharia or not.
- can I add that if my husband is unfaithful, or fails to provide for me financially or emotionally that I have the right to ask for a divorce and receive the full Mehr?
- if I contribute financially, am I entitled to my share back if there is a divorce
- Lastly, I would like the right to divorce if he does not lower his gaze (e.g. on social media). Should this also be written in, or is it already valid in Sharia?

Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah: Wa-alaikumus-salām-wa-rahmatullāhi-wa-barakātuhu.
You should not marry a man who you fear has evil qualities. These conditions that you wish to include into a contract are embarrassing and humiliating. The man provides for his family. Whatever you willingly give is sadaqah, so you can’t ask for it back. The fact that a woman would seek it back says a lot about her poor character. How does a husband provide for his wife emotionally? Rather, he is obligated to follow the Sunnah in his treatment of her. And she must do the same.
A man and woman are both obligated to lower their gazes.
From these questions, I can see this woman is not ready for marriage as she is seeking reasons to leave before she has even married. I advise her to read my book on the righteous wife.

The question:
“May Allāh bless you and grant you wellbeing. I had a discussion with my relative about Mohammed Hijab. My relative replied to me saying:
“He has a positive effect on others but
the problem is his arrogance, and it’s better to overlook his mistake.”
So here are my questions:
1 — How do we refute the doubt that “he has a positive impact on the Dawah scene” and the likes of it?
2 — It’s acknowledged that some of the Salaf (may Allāh forgive them) had mistakes in ‘Aqeedah due to their ijtihād. How can we differentiate between a Salafi scholar’s Ijtihād in ‘Aqeedah a current caller’s error in ‘Aqeedah (whether ignorantly or intentionally)?”

“O Shaddād bin ‘Aws, if you see the people piling and hoarding gold and silver then you (collect and) treasure these words,
‘O Allāh verily I ask of You for strength of perseverance of obedience on the Deen, and determination in practicing of the Deen and goodness. And I ask of You for that which obligates Your mercy and resolutions for Your forgiveness. And I ask of You for the capability to be thankful for Your blessings and to worship you in a correct and good way. And I ask of l You for a heart which is purified in l belief and free from desires and a l truthful tongue.
And I ask of You for the best of what You know, and I seek refuge with You from the evil of what You know and I seek forgiveness for that which You know. Indeed You are the One who knows the unseen.‘“
