The Shia are the people of piety and diligence
Imam Sadiq peace be with him said:
Our Shia are the people of piety and diligence, loyalty and honesty, and asceticism and worship. They perform fifty-one rak’as in a single day and night. They pass their nights with worship and their days with fasting. They defray the zakat from their wealth, perform the hajj, and refrain from committing any forbidden thing.[1]

ابو بصير گفت: امام صادق عليه السّلام فرمود:شيعيان ما پرهيزكار:، كوشا در كار خير، وفادار، امانتدار و اهل زهد و عبادتند. در هر شبانه روز، پنجاه و يك ركعت نماز مى‏گزارند. شبها را [به عبادت‏] بيدارند و روزها را روزه مى‏گيرند. زكات مالشان را مى‏دهند و حجّ خانه خدا را بجا مى‏آورند و از هر كار حرامى دورى مى‏كنند.

ابو بصیر نے امام صادق سے فرمایا: ہمارے شیعہ پرہیزگار، نیکیوں میں کوشش کرنے والے، وفادار، امانت دار، اہل زہد و عبادت ہیں. رات دن میں اکیاون رکعت نماز پڑھتے ہیں رات میں (سحر سے پہلے) عبادت کرتے ہیں، دن میں روزے (کم سے کم مہینے میں تین دن) رکھتے ہیں. مال سے زکات دیتے ہیں اور حج انجام دیتے ہیں. اور ہر حرام کاری سے دور رہتے ہیں.

I sometimes tell university teachers (in Iran) that alongside their physics and chemistry formulae, they must also teach students lessons about God through these very sciences. 🌻 Spiritual Advices from Ayatullah Tahriri for entering into the Month of Zilhajj and making the most of this month:

💯 Regarding the importance of the first ten days of the month of Zil-Hijjah, a tradition has been narrated from the Prophet of Allah, according to which there are no days in which good deeds and worship are more loved by Allah as they are in these ten days.

🔰 The acts of worship specific for these ten days are as follows:

1⃣ Fasting for the first nine days, which has the reward of fasting for one’s entire lifetime.

2⃣ Performing the special prayer* for these ten days between Maghrib and Isha prayers.

3⃣ Reciting the specific supplications* for these days.

4⃣ Reciting the tahlīlāt every day.
( لاَ إلہَ إلاَّ اﷲُ عَدَدَ اللَّیالِی وَالدُّھُورِ ... )*

5⃣ Giving importance to and performing the acts of worship on the night and day of Arafah, specially reciting Dua al-Arafah after Zuhr time on that day.

🔺This was all of the bridal-gift of the lady (Fatema Zahra peace be with her) whose mother was a top millionaire from Arabia; and their caravan of (expensive) goods were always moving between Syria and Yemen; (yet) she sacrificed all her (numerous and expensive) goods for the sake of Islam. Her father was the dignified and noble Holy Prophet of Islam, leader of peace, mercy and blessings to Arabia and all nations.
🔺When they brought the bridal-gift of Fatema (peace be with her), tears streamed from the holy eyes of the Prophet (peace be with him and his progeny) and said: "O God, take these gifts and bless it to those (Ali & Fatemah) whose most of bridal-gift containers are only filled with pottery".

🔺هنگامی که جهاز فـاطـمه را آوردند اشک در چشم پیامبر حلقه زد و گفت: خداوندا! این پیوند را برای کسانی که اکثر ظروفشان سفالین است، مبارک گردان!

🔺یہ تہا سارا جہیز کا سامان شہزدی بنت رسول اللہ کا جسکی ماں عرب کی دولت مند ترین خاتون تہی جن کی تجارت کے کاروان شام سے یمن تک پہیلے تہے۔ جس نے اپنی ساری دولت رسول کے اختیار میں، اسلام کے حوالے کر دی۔ جس کے بابا پیامبر خدا تہے عرب اور دنیا ان کے صدقے میں خلق ہوئی۔
🔺جب فاطمہ زہرا کا جہیز گہر آیا تو پیامبر کی آنکہوں میں آنسو آ گیے اور فرمایا خدایا اِس رشتے کو میرے بچوں (علی اور فاطمہ) کے لیے جنکے تقریبا سارے برتن مٹی کے بنے ہیں مبارک قرار دے۔

“…Does the one who claims to be of the Shia think it is enough to (simply) speak of loving us, Ahlulbayt (the Prophet’s family)?

By God, our Shia are only those who are mindful of God and obey Him. They were known…only (in light of their) modesty, humility, trustworthiness, abundant remembrance of God, fasting, prayer, honoring parents, caring for neighbors, the poor, people in need, those in debt, and orphans… (they were known for their) truthful words, the recitation of Qur’an, and holding their tongues back unless it was to speak good of people. They were the trustees (entrusted) by their peoples in (the various) affairs…”

Today marks the demise of Hadhrat Abu Dhar al-Ghifari (ra); one of the greatest companions and helpers of Prophet Muhammad (S) and Imam Ali (as).

After the demise of the Holy Prophet (S), Abu Dhar was among the few companions that supported and stayed alongside Imam Ali (as). As a loyal and true companion, Abu Dhar always defended the rights of the Ahlul-Bayt and spoke out against their enemies. As a result of this activism for truth and justice, Abu Dhar was exiled to the land of al-Rabadha where he eventually passed away.

The Holy Prophet (S) had predicted this in a hadith where he said: "O Abu Dhar! You will live alone, and die alone, and be resurrected alone, and enter the paradise alone."

Tafsir al-Qummi, vol.1, p. 295

May Allah give us the strength to defend the Ahlul-Bayt as Abu Dhar did and to follow his footsteps.
