Day 2 task 1
The bar chart is a comparison of the percentage of the three different means of media used to keep in touch with everyday news by five age groups in an unspecified country in 2011.

Overall, it is noteworthy that people of all age categories used radio more with the exception of the youngest (10-17), whose social networks use was far higher. Although the percentage of social app usage was considerable in the second youngest group (18-29), it was radio that was dominant here. Micro-blogging was by far the least favorable option in all age groups.

To start, social networks utilization proportion in the youngest was 80% - equal to the same figure for people aged 18-29. However, as people got older, they showed less interest towards social media usage. The rate of it for people being 30-49 was equal to the sum of the figures for 50-64 (35%) and the oldest group with 10%.

Coming to radio, it was by far the most popular type of media almost in age categories. The only group who showed less incentive to use radio was teenagers, the percentage of radio for them was 40% - a half of the figure of social apps for teenagers. In other groups, the rate for radio was quite high; young adults, middle-aged people and people aged 50-64 shared similar tendencies - around 95% - the highest of all. The elderly had a percentage of a little lower than their younger counterparts.

As for the micro-blogging, it was substantially low in general. Teenagers and young adults had 20% and 25% respectively - relatively higher than older groups. Other age groups had less than 15%, with the oldest being the lowest with around 3%.

Day 3 Task 1
The pie charts is an illustration of the percentages of people moving to and from the UK. The data covers the year 2007, and compares six main motives for moving.

Overall, it is noteworthy that having an exact work position was the main drive both for immigrants and emigrants. In contrary, while the lowest reason for coming was accounted for aimless people, the least proportion for going out was true for educational grounds. Another big incentive for immigrating was the flow of international students, whereas other purposes to move to the UK
were quite similar. In the emigration, however, the unmentioned reasons shared almost the same rates.

To start with immigration, by far the biggest percentage of people came to the UK for definite occupations - 30%. The second biggest share was for students to pursue a formal study; it was a little lower than the figure for jobs. The rate of accompanied people was half of the share for situations - approximately higher by 3% than the figures of people seeking for work and others. The percentage of the former was double of the proportion for without reasons (6%).

As for the emigration, having a guaranteed job and being in search of it made up a significant proportion altogether - more than a half of the total pie. Their rates were 23% and 22% respectively. Purposeless people comprised of almost a fifth - a little higher than joining others and other reasons, which were at around 14%. The least percentage was for study purposes, and it was lower by 10% than others.

Friendships that take place online are not as meaningful as those where people meet each other face to face. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Day 2 Task 2
In today's interconnected world, the nature of human relationships has evolved, with online friendships becoming increasingly prevalent. The question of whether these digital connections hold the same depth and significance as traditional face-to-face friendships is a topic of debate. While some argue that online friendships lack the depth of in-person ones, I firmly believe that friendships formed online can be equally meaningful.

To begin with, online friendships offer a unique platform for individuals to connect across geographical boundaries. The internet allows people to meet others who share similar interests, hobbies, or life experiences, regardless of their physical location. This diversity in friendship choices can lead to more enriching and fulfilling relationships as individuals interact with a broader range of perspectives.

Furthermore, the digital age has provided numerous tools for fostering deep connections online. Video calls, instant messaging, and social media platforms enable friends to communicate in real-time, bridging the gap that physical distance might impose. These technologies facilitate open and heartfelt conversations, allowing individuals to share their thoughts, emotions, and experiences just as they would in person.

Moreover, the notion that online friendships lack meaning overlooks the fact that the essence of any relationship lies in the emotional connection and support it provides. Online friends can offer invaluable emotional support during difficult times, celebrate achievements, and provide companionship when needed, just like friends who meet face to face.

In conclusion, the significance of online friendships should not be underestimated. The ability to connect with like-minded individuals globally and the advancements in technology have transformed online relationships into meaningful and fulfilling connections. While traditional friendships hold their own value, the digital age has expanded the horizons of human connection, making online friendships just as substantial and meaningful as their face-to-face counterparts.

In many societies, there is a growing emphasis on sustainable living and reducing environmental impact. What are the challenges of adopting a sustainable lifestyle? What practical actions can individuals take to contribute to sustainability? Day 3 Task…
In contemporary society, the pursuit of sustainability and the reduction of environmental impact have become imperative goals. However, the adoption of a sustainable lifestyle is not without its challenges. This essay will explore the obstacles individuals face when striving to live sustainably and suggest practical actions that can help address these challenges.

One of the primary challenges of embracing sustainability is the convenience-oriented lifestyle deeply ingrained in modern societies. Many people are accustomed to the ease of disposable products, fast food, and energy-intensive transportation, making it difficult to shift towards eco-friendly alternatives. Additionally, sustainable options are often perceived as more expensive, deterring individuals with limited financial resources. Furthermore, social pressures and societal norms can hinder sustainable choices; individuals may feel judged or isolated for their efforts to reduce consumption or waste.

To overcome these challenges, individuals can take practical actions to contribute to sustainability. Firstly, education plays a pivotal role; people need to be informed about the environmental impact of their choices. Schools, media, and government campaigns can disseminate knowledge about sustainable practices. Secondly, governments can incentivize sustainable living through tax breaks, subsidies, and regulations that promote eco-friendly products and practices. Thirdly, communities can foster a sense of belonging and support for sustainable living, making individuals feel less isolated in their efforts. Finally, adopting simple habits, such as reducing meat consumption, conserving energy, and minimizing waste, can collectively make a significant difference.

In conclusion, the shift towards sustainability faces challenges related to convenience, cost, and societal pressures. However, practical actions, including education, government policies, community support, and individual behavioral changes, can help overcome these obstacles. By collectively addressing these challenges and embracing sustainability, individuals can contribute to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future for all.
