A reliable source reported that Russian forces have advanced down a treeline and into the first houses of Novovasylivka.

Russian forces have reportedly advanced in Toretsk, seizing new residential areas and are now apparently trying to encircle the Ukrainians who have fortified themselves on the territory of the military enlistment office (circled in blue) and in the building of the community centre.

According to the news outlet T&T Newsday, Trinidad and Tobago has signed a deal with America authorizing deployment of US forces on the island nation in case of conflict with Venezuela.

The IDF has announced their intentions to create a new Light-Infantry Division to "provide security and patrol operations for Israel’s Eastern Border" with both Jordan and the West Bank. It will also operate in the West Bank "if needed". The division is dubbed the 96th or “David Division” and will apparently be made up of at least 15,000 volunteer reservists between the ages of 38 and 58. Major General Moti Almoz has been chosen as the Division Commander. He has already reportedly appointed 5 Brigade Commanders, 25 Battalion Commanders, and around 100 of the 125 Company Commanders. Speaking at an event on Monday night, The IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said “In this war, we learned that the IDF needs to be bigger, broader, in the face of difficult situations and long wars.”

All 25 of the battalions are expected to enter active service by the end of 2025.

After the capture of Blahodatne, Russia turned their attention to encircling the Ukrainian garrison stationed in Makarivka. Reliable reports had already suggested that Russian forces had likely advanced northeast of Makarivka, but it's possible that strong Ukrainian resistance in the last treelines before reaching the western bank of the river prevented Russia from completing the encirclement.

Either way, instead of advancing from the west, Russia chose to conduct a surprise operation over the Mokri Yaly river, establishing a small foothold in the forest plantations on its western bank, although this foothold is likely larger.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces advanced in the direction of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and have reached the eastern outskirts of Novovasylivka.

After reversing the limited Ukrainian counterattacks on Novotroitske and establishing a small buffer zone to the east of the village, Russian forces advanced down the treeline that leads directly to the northeastern-most houses of Novovasylivka, taking up positions there.

This treeline will allow the Russians to infiltrate the eastern part of the village as it provides some cover for small groups of Russian infantry.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces again advanced in Upsenivka (south of Kurakhove).

After entering the village and establishing control over its eastern houses, Russian infantry continued to advance down the two roads towards the centre of the settlement. As a result of this new advance, they were able to take up new positions and are now just 750 metres from Upsenivka's western outskirts.

This advance was likely easier than it would otherwise be as the Russians hold the local tactical heights on both sides of the Sukhi Yaly river.

A recent report by the Ukrainian source "Deepstate" suggests that Russian forces likely advanced in Sontsivka, capturing the rest of the village.

Ukraine has put up significant resistance in this settlement, preventing Russia from bypassing Kurakhove from the north (this might be why they started attacking from the south towards Andriivka).

After advancing down the street to the northwest, Russian forces reportedly reached the northwestern outskirts of Sontsivka. They then likely crossed the Strashnyi River and established a bridgehead in the forest plantations on its western bank.

A recent report by the Ukrainian source "Deepstate" suggests that Russian forces likely advanced in the Velyka Novosilka direction have almost completed the physical encirclement of Makarivka.

In the east, Russian forces likely marginally advanced, establishing a foothold on the next treeline over.

In the west, Russian forces likely advanced down a treeline, establishing control over around half of it. If these reports are true, then the two pincers are less than 830 metres apart.
