Russia heavily attacked the outskirts of Zaporizhzhia City KAB glide-bombs and Geran-2 drones last night.

At least 18 KAB glide-bombs were used, impacting the villages of Balabyne and Kushuhum, just south of Zaporizhzhia.

Two Geran-2 drones also impacted the vicinity of Zaporizhzhia's Old City.

NASA FIRMS data indicates that a large fire is burning at the "Taman" 500 kV electrical substation near the town of Starotitarovskaya, Krasnodar Krai, as a result of Ukrainian mid-range drone strikes.

Ukrainian mid-range drone strikes on energy infrastructure across Crimea, Krasnodar Krai, and Russian-controlled Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts, resulted in widespread power outages across these regions.

Electricity has been partially restored in parts of Crimea, however the majority of the peninsula was completely without power earlier in the night.

Druzhkivka direction, Donetsk Oblast.

Russian DRGs were once again detected operating deep behind Ukrainian lines, at 5 different locations near the villages of Staroraiske, Serhiivka, Rohanske, Novoandriivka, and Andriivka.

These infiltration groups pose a real threat to Ukrainian drone operator positions and artillery crews, and are yet to be fully cleared by Ukrainian forces.

October has become the worst month on record for commercial ship attacks around the Strait of Hormuz, with 28 confirmed and reported incidents. More than 30 supertankers have been damaged since the Iran war began, including 11 this month, Reuters reports.

Druzhkivka direction, Donetsk Oblast.

Individual Russian small infiltration groups again entered the village of Kindradivka, just outside Druzhkivka, where they were operating in the eastern houses. Another infiltration group also entered the village of Klynove.

A Russian DRG group was detected operating in the fields northeast of Raiske, on the approaches to Druzhkivka.

Russian soldiers are using the extensive cover in the form of built-up areas and foliage, alongside poor weather conditions, to reduce their chances of being detected by Ukrainian drones.

80% of all buildings in Bilozerske, Donetsk Oblast, have been destroyed or severely damaged, and around 200-250 residents out of its pre-war population of 15,000 remain. All children have been evacuated.

The battles for the city haven't even started yet.

Dobropillya direction, Donetsk Oblast.

Russian soldiers were detected operating in the trench fortifications south of Shylivka. It's unclear if this was a DRG group or a small infiltration assault group.

This continues the trend of deep infiltrations southwest of Dobropillya, as earlier in the month, Russian infiltrators were detected in the treelines north of the E-50 highway in the yellow circle on the map.

Next time you wonder why I don't automatically add a grey or infiltration zone when a Russian soldier is seen somewhere, please refer back to this post. https://t.me/AMK_Mapping/39293

Kozacha Lopan direction, Kharkiv Oblast.

The intensity of fighting has significantly decreased over the last month. Kozacha Lopan itself remains under Russian control, although some isolated Ukrainian positions yet to be cleared are still present in the western and southeastern streets. These positions do not pose any significant threat to ongoing Russian assault operations beyond the town.

Russian forces, using small groups of infantry, are primarily focused on consolidating in the railway line south of Kozacha Lopan and infiltrating the nearby village of Nova Kozacha, where Russian infiltrators have been periodically detected recently, including in the dachas on its southern outskirts.

On the flanks, sporadic fighting continues, as Russian assault groups periodically attempt to establish buffer zones east and west of the town, attacking through the gulleys towards the village of Sosnivka, as well towards the highway east of Kozacha Lopan. These attacks are mainly being carried out in the form of isolated infiltrations, without much artillery or drone cover.

Ukraine maintains an advantage with drones throughout the Kozacha Lopan direction, and heavily targets Russian reinforcements arriving from the international border, which are forced to largely funnel along one singular route along the railway line for cover. This has been one of the main reasons why Russia has been largely unable to develop their offensive beyond the town after establishing control over it in early-September.

Ukrainian channels report that two Russian DRG groups managed to infiltrate an island of the "5th Selishche" District of Kherson City, using the fog from a few days ago to enter undetected.

Clashes subsequently broke out. Ukrainian sources claim all Russian soldiers were killed and captured. One Ukrainian special operations soldier was killed.

While Russian advances across the frontline have slowed this year, their mid-to-long-range strikes have significantly increased.

I estimate Russia averages around 140 individual strikes per day using missiles and drones. Ukraine averages around one-tenth of this, giving us a strike ratio of around 10:1 in favour of Russia.

This figure excludes strikes on logistics, which are usually carried out using cheaper, smaller, and more numerous drones.

Mid and long-range strikes have always been one of Russia's biggest advantages in this war, and has remained a very important component of attrition.

Omelnyk direction, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

While the situation near Orikhiv had largely turned in favour of Ukraine, the same cannot be said for the areas northeast of it in the Omelnyk direction, where Russian forces are continuing their offensive with the goal of developing a large right flank to Orikhiv for the eventual encirclement of the city.

Russian forces are primarily concentrating their efforts along the banks of the Zherebets River. Their assaults along the southern bank are more developed compared to the north, where Russian forces managed to capture the southern part of Novoselivka earlier this month, and begin infiltrating north across the river into Yehorivka and even the eastern outskirts of Omelnyk. Although, despite this, a large number of Ukrainian positions remain present slightly further south, intermingled with Russian positions in a large grey-zone. This could hinder Russia's ability to consolidate in the Yehorivka-Omelnyk area in the near future, if left uncleared.

More recently, efforts have been underway to allow the assault along the northern bank of the river to catch up. Russian artillery and MLRS is heavily targeting Ukrainian positions along the tactical heights overlooking the Zherebets River, providing suppressive fire and cover for Russian assault groups attempting to penetrate Ukrainian defences in the Novoselivka and Yehorivka areas. Russian infiltrators are currently tasked with seizing the northern part of Novoselivka and linking up with infiltrators entering from the south in neighbouring Yehorivka, before eventually initiating a wider assault on Omelnyk itself. The capture of Omelnyk would allow Russia to begin shifting the frontline towards Orikhiv from the northeast to begin encircling the city.

In addition to these attacks through Novoselivka and Yehorivka, Rusian forces are also attempting to expand their zone of control along the tactical heights further north, infiltrating through the large grey-zone north of Huliaipilske towards two areas where a series of Ukrainian positions are located, both of which are currently under heavy Russian artillery and MLRS fire.

Furthermore, Russian assault operations are continuing in the Verkhnya Tersa area, although not to the same intensity seen a couple of months ago. Russian infiltrators are currently focused on infiltrating downhill from the newly captured strongpoints along the railway line on the tactical heights, bypassing Verkhnya Tersa fom the north, and reaching the eastern approaches to Dolynka.
