Situation on the Dobropillya direction, Donetsk Oblast:
Over the last two weeks, Russian forces continued their assault operations in the Dobropillya direction, making new advances and deepening their DRG infiltrations.
In the northeast, Russian forces recaptured most of Kucheriv Yar along with the positions in the forests to the south, allowing them to begin infiltrating north towards the village of Vesele. Other assault groups continued infiltrations towards Zolotyi Kolodyaz and into Rubizhne, while DRGs were detected operating along the railway line northwest of Rubizhne.
To the southwest, Russian forces improved their positions along the railway lines west of Novyi Donbas and continued attacking Ukrainian positions in the fields to the south. Other Russian assault groups continued infiltrating the northeastern part of Dobropillya, while DRGs are infiltrating north to the outskirts of Bilozerske and west to Svyatohorivka. Ukrainian forces are actively counterattacking in Dobropillya, trying to clear the city from Russian infiltrators.
To the south, Russian forces cleared the remaining parts of Shevchenko and began assault operations on Matyasheve. Other assault groups continued fighting for Bilytske, Chernihivka, Krasnopodillya and Dobropillya village. Russian DRGs were also detected in the vicinity of Nadiya, while fighting continued for the treelines northeast of Myrne. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces cleared some positions south of Hulive from earlier Russian infiltrations, while Russian forces continued assault operations west along the southern bank of the Hrishynka River.
+ ~12.53 km² in favour of Russia.
+ ~3.27 km² in favour of Ukraine.

Overnight, Russia carried out an attack on Odesa Oblast using Geran-2 drones and Geran-4 jet-drones.
The explosions were partially masked by a large thunderstorm hitting the region at the time (as seen in the video), although strikes were recorded targeting the Chornomorsk Port area, as well as border crossings and ferry terminals along the Ukraine-Romania international border near Orlivka and the city of Izmail.

Ukrainian NABU (National anti-corruption bureau) & SAPO (specialised anti-corruption prosecutors office) have stormed the headquarters of the prosecutor general of Ukraine.
Kyiv independent reports that Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko could be implicated and NABU has detained the deputy head of the international cooperation department of the prosecutor generals office.
This comes after the shootout between GUR & SBU in Kyiv, and a suspect drone strike on the SBU headquarters.
There's limited, but in-depth reporting that there's increased factional fighting among elites over the division of the profits from the scam call centres.
With some figures suggesting this network of scam calls employs 60,000 people and makes $1 billion a month

I removed an earlier post I made about an AI generated video of a Ukrainian flag being raised over the Kinburn Spit after it came to my attention that it was misleading.
I was under the impression that it was posted by a Ukrainian military channel, and reposted by @union_klen, but apparently it was sent to them via DMs by a scammer.
This video was not an attempt by the Ukrainian military to deceive people into thinking a landing operation on Kinburn Spit had taken place, but instead a random person trying to trick a small channel. The post made it sound like this was them criticising the Ukrainian military for using AI (which has happened before with other units such as Skala), but instead they were making fun of the scammer who sent it to them.
Apologies for the confusion.

This is a very misleading, and even outright false statement.
1. That is according to Ukrainian government-controlled sources (Deepstate) and the Ukrainian general staff. Actual independent open sources do not report anything near what you are saying.
2. Ukraine carried out 70 long-range strikes, now try guess how many Russia carried out? Spoiler alert, it’s about 10 times more, according to Ukrainian media themselves. If you want to claim Russia is losing, then you can’t just look at figures from one side that are the most comfortable to you.
3. Again, only according to Ukrainian government-controlled sources. Most truly independent mappers have actually reported an increase in the rate of Russian advances in recent months.
4. “At the current pace of advance, blah blah blah” we’re almost 5 years into this war and we’re still parroting this fucking ridiculous linear warfare claim?? How many times does it have to be said that advances in a war of attrition are NOT linear. They also aren’t even the main indicator of who is winning an attritional war. Remember how it went from “at the current rate of advance Russia will need 1,000 years to take Kyiv”, to “500 years” to now “90 years”. That’s decreasing precisely because advances aren’t linear. This claim is fucking absurd and it’s a blatant misrepresentation of reality.
Ignoring the uncomfortable realities and underestimating your enemy only makes the situation even worse.

There will be some major Lyman developments soon 👀 Can't say much right now, but I will write more when I can.
❗️The Russian salient north of Lyman has officially been cleared by Ukrainian forces.
Over the last week, the remaining Russian formations withdrew from their bridgehead west of the Nitrius River, and then further east towards the Zherebets River. Ukrainian forces have recaptured the villages of Shandryholove, Serednje, Zelena Dolnya, Derylove, and Novomykhailivka, and most of the forests between them.
Right now, Ukrainian forces are attempting to reach the Zherebets River from several different directions. The main thrust is taking place down the gullies from the direction of Nove, where they are approaching the villages of Ivanivka and Terny. Other assault groups are actively fighting for Kolodyazi and are close to establishing full control over it, while attacks are taking place along the gullies on the flanks of the settlement.
Meanwhile, on the far left flank of this counteroffensive, Ukrainian forces recaptured the village of Novomykhailivka and are expanding their zone of infiltration along the gulley towards Novolyubivka. Some small groups of soldiers have managed to cross over into Luhansk Oblast and are attempting to capture some positions in the forests there. On the far right flank of this push, Ukrainian forces are intensifying their infiltrations into Zarichne, expanding the grey-zone in the northern streets, and are now trying to cross the Zherebets River and recapture the strongpoints at the Torske Fish Farm.
With this Russian salient now gone, the threat of encirclement for Lyman has been eliminated, and significant pressure on Slovyansk and Borova has been alleviated. Over a year of Russian progress and offensive operations has now been completely reversed. I will make a more in-depth analysis post on the tactical-level and strategic implications of this counteroffensive later.
+ ~151.88 km² in favour of Ukraine.

NOTE: the sources I used for this include my own information from the ground, multiple Russian channels, and an analysis of Sentinel-2 satellite imagery. The information from the ground included was not used to identify the current frontline configuration. The only part of that information I took into account for this update was the fact that the salient had been cleared, which is confirmed by open sources. The majority of this information was gathered from open sources, and it does not break Ukraine's OPSEC regime.

I'd like to note that pretty much all of the Russian formations were able to withdraw before being encircled. This was already occurring a few weeks ago from west of the Nitrius River, but an order to withdraw from the areas between the Nitrius and Zherebets River was given some time after September 1.
This order was given once it became clear to the Russian command that their forces defending the Kolodyazi and Zelena Dolnya areas would be unable to prevent the salient from being cut off. They withdrew to prevent the ~200-300 remaining Russian soldiers defending this salient from being encircled and captured.
The high density of forested areas and foliage, along with artillery crews and Su-34s dropping KAB glide-bombs provided cover for this phased withdrawal to take place, so it's unlikely that any significant casualties were suffered by them in the process.
