Additional information about the upcoming combined missile and drone attack on Ukraine involving strategic bombers: 3 Tu-160M strategic bombers from Ukrainka Airbase in the Far East will be used in this attack, rather than 2. A 3rd one is redeploying to Engelsโฆ
With Putin having ordered a 3-day halt to all strikes on Kyiv starting tonight, the upcoming large-scale, combined Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine which was expected to take place either tonight or tomorrow night has likely been postponed, presumably to Wednesday or Thursday.
Yesterday, a 6th Russian Tu-95MS strategic bomber flew to Engels-2 Airbase to be equipped with Kh-101 cruise missiles, before flying back to Ukrainka Airbase in the Far East. Thus, there are now 3 Tu-160M and 6 Tu-95MS strategic bombers equipped with missiles at Ukrainka Airbase - the expected number for this next large-scale attack.

Current zones of mandatory evacuation for civilian families in the remaining parts of Donetsk Oblast under Ukrainian control:
The evacuation zones (yellow) in areas under Ukrainian control cover an area of approximately 2,520 kmยฒ out of ~4,130 kmยฒ of Ukrainian-controlled Donetsk Oblast, which equates to about 61% of the territory.
Just 1,610 kmยฒ of Donetsk Oblast remain in an area with only recommended evacuation orders, rather than mandatory. That means that approximately 94% of the region is either under Russian control or under mandatory evacuations (effectively meaning they are "dead" areas).
This equates to about 97% of the total area of Donbas being either under Russian control, or "dead" areas, with only around 3% of Donbas being liveable areas under Ukrainian control.
Additionally, approximately 30% of Slovyansk city and 10% of Kramatorsk city are part of these evacuation zones, which include the most dangerous streets and neighbourhoods.
A total of 92,932 civilians remain in Ukrainian-controlled Donetsk Oblast, and 0 in Ukrainian-controlled Luhansk Oblast. This number has more than halved since January 2026, when it was reported at 192,600. It has decreased by nearly 40,000 in just the last 2 months.
In the coming months, the final areas of Donetsk Oblast will be declared areas of mandatory evacuation, and the region will become the second in Ukraine (other than Crimea) after Luhansk to officially be either fully occupied, or "dead".
The end of 2026 may finally mark the end of Donbas as an area of Ukrainian society, after nearly 13 years of war.

Here's a clearer map showing how small the remaining 3% of the "liveable" parts of Donbas, with continued day-to-day civilian life, is.
This area includes the majority of the cities of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk, the towns of Novodonetske, Cherkaske, and Oleksandrivka, and various smaller villages.

A Russian KAB strike has killed Yaroslav Ovsyuk, a Mavick operator from the 38th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Owner and operator of the Ukrainian Telegram channel "Ovsyuk 3.0" which I had used multiple times. He warned of the situation befalling Dobropillya, it is now his final place of rest.
Thanks for the Info, RIP.

NOTE: the ceasefire is only in place for Kyiv *city*.
Russia may still attack Kyiv Oblast, although I doubt areas of the Kyiv metropolitan area within Kyiv Oblast will be hit. If any attacks do occur, it will probably be on neighbouring towns/cities.

The IRGC announced targeting a U.S. Aircraft Carrier along with another warship with anti-ship ballistic missiles, and claimed to have damaged them, forcing the vessels to flee the conflict zone.
Earlier, CENTCOM confirmed the IRGC launched ballistic missiles at U.S. Navy vessels, but denied any damage occurred, claiming a U.S. aircraft carrier and guided-missile destroyer successfully evaded the attacks.

Today, Putin made a claim that might be the most ridiculous thing to come out of the Russian government so far during this war... He claimed that Russia captured the city of Svyatorhirsk, west of Lyman. For reference, Svyatohirsk is currently nearly 10 kmโฆ
The Svyatohirsk clown-show continues...
Following Putin's false claims on September 2 where he alleged that Russian forces captured Svyatohirsk (a rear city with a continued presence of even Ukrainian municipal authorities), the Zapad Group of Forces published two videos trying to back this statement up.
The first was a video reportedly showing a Russian soldier walking through the city streets. In reality, this video was recorded by a Ukrainian over a year ago. Zapad just muted the original video and added their own audio track over it of a Russian soldier speaking, which is why their video sounds so weird. I have attached the original year-old video above.
The second video showed a Russian soldier in front of a Svyatohirsk sign, although this time its in a completely different part of the city. However, when taking a closer look, the bushes in the background start shapeshifting, and it has the same unrealistic audio seen in the first video. This one is AI-generated.
