Some additional information and clarifications regarding the fighting which took place last night between members of the SBU and GUR.
Earlier this week, two soldiers from the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) were kidnapped in the courtyard of their home in Kyiv, including deputy commander of the RDK Stepan Kaplunov. The RDK is subordinated to the GUR, and it seems likely that the SBU was responsible for the kidnapping.
Last night, the GUR was dispatched to a high-rise building at 10 Yuriya Shums'koho Street in the Berezniaky District of Kyiv to investigate the SBU about accusations of them kidnapping Kaplunov and another member of the RDK. A fight then broke out, prompting the SBU's Alpha unit (special counter-terror unit) to arrive, which then resulted in the shooting starting. The standoff continued until past 10am the next morning.
Following the clashes, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation arrived at the scene to de-escalate the situation. At least three GUR members were injured in the fighting. No deaths were reported. During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the detainees were indeed from the RDK, with their weapons and documents having been confiscated by the kidnappers at the time. Kaplunov has since been released, however his lawyer stated that his whereabouts are currently unknown.
The widely-circulating claim by the SBU about it foiling a "Russian FSB terror plot" to attack a leader of a Russian opposition movement seems to be unfounded. RBC Ukraine backs this up, quoting Kaplunov's lawyer stating that the SBU is trying to cover up the kidnapping, and present this Russia-oriented version of events to the public.
(NOTE: This is based entirely on information from my own sources and reports by Ukrainian media outlets).

The Economist reports that Russia has significantly ramped up its production rate of ballistic missiles, and is now producing approximately 100 units per month, including Iskander-Ms and RM-48U modified S-400s.
Last month, Ukrainian intelligence estimated that Russia produced 65 Iskander-M ballistic missiles in July. If the Ukrainian intelligence and Economist figures are both correct, it would indicate Russia is producing around 35 RM-48U modified S-400 ballistic missiles per month.
When taking into account the new Kn-23 ballistic missiles delivered to Russia by North Korea, Russia now has the capacity to launch weekly medium-sized attacks on Kyiv (~15 missiles per attack) without ever decreasing their total missiles in reserve, while still retaining 40 additional newly-produced missiles, as well as all of their Kn-23 ballistic missiles for attacks on different targets.
For reference, in 2022, it was estimated by Ukrainian intelligence that Russia produced just 3 Iskander-Ms per month. They also did not have any RM-48U modified S-400 or Kn-23 ballistic missiles at this time.

I agree with this assessment. Unfortunately, a lot of these "analysts" (advocates) probably do see this, but are just trying to paint the narrative that Ukraine's strike campaign didn't backfire, considering how widely publicised and promoted it was.
I think another issue contributing to this unfounded belief is that these massive Russian retaliatory attacks are hardly even reported on by independent analysts, let alone western media. They have been reported on several times less than the Ukrainian strike campaign, even though they are much larger and more destructive.

Iran attacked 7 different American military bases in 4 different countries with dozens of ballistic missiles and drones yesterday, and it appears that the U.S. is not going to respond.
Iranian deterrence has been re-established, as America faces continued critical interceptor missile stockpiles. Meanwhile, Iran retains the majority of its ballistic missile launchers, thousands of ballistic missiles in their underground cities, and is actively expanding its ballistic missile production sites once again.
Despite claiming to have carried out a large wave of strikes on Iranian military targets yesterday, the CENTCOM footage only showed a couple of valuable targets being hit in southern Iran, and nothing else. Iran still maintains their ability to strike any ship in the Strait of Hormuz, and can also strike any American military base due to the lack of interceptor missile stockpiles.
The American humiliation ritual continues...

At least 12 craters from Russian KAB glide-bomb strikes are visible on today's release of Sentinel-2 satellite imagery (between August 30 and September 2), confirming continued Ukrainian control over the eastern part of Lyman, despite various claims by Russian sources of Russian control.
