Last night and this morning, Russia launched another large-scale, combined missile and drone attack on Ukraine.

Missiles launched:

~34 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles launched from OTRK installations near Klintsy, Bryansk Oblast.

~4 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles launched from OTRK installations near Klintsy, Bryansk Oblast.

~4 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles launched from ground-based installations near Manturovo, Kursk Oblast.

~2 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles launched from ground-based installations near Millerovo Airbase, Rostov Oblast.

~4 Kh-59/69 cruise missiles launched from a Su-34 in the western Black Sea.

~2 P-800 Oniks supersonic cruise missiles launched from a K-300 Bastion-P ground-based installation.

~1 Kh-31P anti-radar missile launched from a Su-35 in the western Black Sea.

-----------------------

Total missiles launched:

~6 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles.
~4 Kh-59/69 cruise missiles.
~2 P-800 Oniks supersonic cruise missiles.
~1 Kh-31P anti-radar missile.

~51 missiles in total.

-----------------------

Ukrainian air defence work:

As of the time of writing, it appears that Ukrainian air defence was able to intercept a *minimum* of 2 Iskander-M/S-400s.

This is one of the lowest interception rates in a long time.

-----------------------

The main targets for this strike was Ukrainian military targets in Kyiv. The following was targeted:

- "Kyiv Central Design Bureau of Valves" machine building plant in Kyiv (50.455460, 30.430426).

- The Meridian Radio Plant in Kyiv (50.446688, 30.415031).

- Kyivkhimvolokno Plastics Factory in Kyiv (50.455144, 30.645816).

- Artem Defence Plant in Kyiv (50.462179, 30.484543).

- Auto-parts enterprise on the western outskirts of Kyiv (50.386199, 30.239884).

- Either the Nova Poshta Warehouse No. 3 or the Nova Poshta Warehouse No. 9 in Kyiv (50.391379, 30.420608).

- DB "Schenker" Logistics warehouse in Kyiv (50.361520, 30.304625).

- Yuzhnyi Port, Odesa Oblast (46.618334, 31.00382).

- Unknown target near Karolino-Buhaz, Odesa Oblast.

- Unknown target in Chornomorsk, Odesa Oblast.

-----------------------

Keep in mind, the numbers of missiles launched may be slightly higher than what I've listed, as the number of missiles detected is sometimes lower than actual launches.

CENTCOM released footage of last night's airstrikes against Iran, which they claim targeted Iranian coastal radar installations, air defence installations, maritime capabilities, as well as missile and drone storage.

They also claim that strikes targeted IRGC forces which launched the ballistic missiles that killed U.S. servicemembers in Jordan yesterday.

This was the 8th consecutive night of U.S. airstrikes on Iran.

I just realised something insane - Kostyantynivka might actually fall BEFORE Chasiv Yar does.

If you told me this back in April 2024 (over 2 years ago) when the battle for Chasiv Yar began, I would've called you crazy.

I just realised something insane - Kostyantynivka might actually fall BEFORE Chasiv Yar does. If you told me this back in April 2024 (over 2 years ago) when the battle for Chasiv Yar began, I would've called you crazy. But here we are...
How has Ukraine managed to hold out on the western suburbs of Chasiv Yar and in the villages west of the city for over a year, despite Russia controlling most of Chasiv Yar?

Well, once again, it comes down to the age-old tactic of controlling the high ground. While the majority of the precarious salient west of Chasiv Yar is situated in the low-lying ground, Ukraine retains control over the entire tactical ridgeline surrounding it, essentially forming a sort of "basin", which Russia is unable to penetrate into from the surrounding heights as they do not fully control them.

Despite the last several weeks seeing intense fighting for Chasiv Yar, Russia has only made minor advances in the city, and has been unable to push the Ukrainians off this high ground. The same can be said for the railway line west of Chasiv Yar, where Ukrainian forces have also been holding strong for well over a year. Additionally, Ukraine holds positions on the tactical heights east of Kostyantynivka, which Russia has chosen to bypass as they focus on taking Kostyantynivka, rather than advancing north into this "basin".

In my opinion, the Russian command will not try to take this salient until Kostyantynivka is captured and secured. Once this is the case, they will likely try to consolidate and expand a bridgehead in the Molocharka area, and simultaneously pressure the northern flank in the Virolyubivka area, in order to force a withdrawal from the salient. But this cannot be done without capturing Kostyantynivka. This could also explain why Ukraine has been counterattacking east of Virolyubivka in recent weeks.

The Russian Ministry of Defence claims that the overnight missile attacks targeted enterprises involved in the production of components and control systems for FP-5 "Flamingo" cruise missiles, FP-7 ballistic missiles, FP-9 ballistic missiles, and Neptune-MD cruise missiles.

They also claimed to have targeted enterprises involved in the production of components for guidance systems, long-range drones, FPV drones, batteries for FPV drones, and fibre for fibre-optic FPV drones.

Furthermore, the Russian MoD claimed that strikes targeted infrastructure used for receiving, storing, assembling, and distributing drones, components for drones, electronic warfare equipment, and robotic complexes

One of these enterprises was also reportedly used for the maintenance and modernisation of on-board optoelectronic sighting systems and on-board radar stations for MiG-29 aircraft. Strikes also reportedly targeted fuel and lubricants tanks at the Yuzhnyi Port in Odesa Oblast, intended to be used by the Ukrainian military.

While these claims remain unverified and unconfirmed, some of the publicly available information about the enterprises hit does line up with the claims made.
