CENTCOM announced targeting the Curaçao-flagged oil tanker "M/T Belma" with Hellfire missiles, after it allegedly ignored repeated warnings while sailing towards Iran's Kharg Island.

The missiles struck the vessel's smokestack, stopping its movement.

Correction: the missiles impacted closer to Merefa, Oblast. Explosions were heard.

They were launched from near the town of Tomarovka, Belgorod Oblast.

In a statement, outgoing Ukrainian Defence Minister Fedorov advocated for the dismissal for Ukrainian Command-in-Chief Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov, stating that Syrskyi - instead of finding a way to asymmetrically defeat Russia - found a way to "split the country".

He stated that Syrskyi issued an ultimatum to Zelensky, that either he or Fedorov should be dismissed. He went on to say that "All the initiatives we propose are being blocked, and Syrskyi is unwilling to openly and directly address the problems".

At the same time, he acknowledged that Syrskyi saved Ukraine in 2022 with the Kharkiv and Kherson counteroffensives, but emphasised Syrskyi's unwillingness to address issues while being paranoid about people trying "orchestrate campaigns against him".

Zelenskyy offered Fedorov a position as an advisor, but he declined.
