Observed losses of SPG & Tanks overlayed with 2025 & 2026.
Armour is used less in this war, but it's by no means irrelevant. It is expensive, produced in limited numbers and critical equipment for potential future combat actions.
As armour has been used less we have seen a natural reduction in Russian armoured losses. The same can't be said for Ukrainian armour losses.
SPG are incredibly important systems that are suppressed by drones, but are not replaced by drones, drones increase their lethality but also their vulnerability.
Drones cannot yet have the area effect that artillery can. Especially in adverse weather.

NASA FIRMS data picked up a heat signature in the Sea of Azov, northeast of Kerch. This could indicate that Ukrainian drones struck another Russian ship.
Ukraine's unmanned systems forces claims that they struck 10 Russian boats/ships overnight.
Obviously this claim is unverified, but it does indicate that the heat signatures on NASA FIRMS that reported on a few hours ago were related to strikes on ships, as I suspected.

An oil tanker was struck by an projectile (likely an Iranian Shahed-131/136 drone) in the Strait of Hormuz, 8 Nautical Miles northeast of Limah, Oman. No casualties are reported.
In my opinion, in around 7-10 hours from now, the U.S. will carry out retaliatory attacks against Iran following the Iranian strikes on an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
The sun sets in southern Iran in around 6.5 hours. The U.S. would most likely carry out any response within a few hours of sunset, which is what we saw for the last few retaliatory attacks.

As I predicted, the U.S. has launched a wave of retaliatory strikes against coastal areas of Iran in response to Iran's strikes on an oil tanker.
So far, at least 15 airstrikes have been carried out on coastal military infrastructure and on Qeshm Island.

These missiles were only detected by radars as they were over Kyiv.

The alarms sounded after the impacts. Some radars detected them as they were over Kyiv, but most seemed to have not detected anything.
It's possible that the Iskanders were targeting the S-300 plant that got hit 2 days ago.
