The target of these missile strikes was an S-300 surface-to-air missile plant in Kyiv.
Secondary detonations were heard for over an hour after the strikes. Nearby residents were ordered to remain indoors.

During last night's attack on Kyiv, multiple Patriot PAC-2/3 missiles failed in flight, impacting the ground shortly after launch. This video shows one of these failures.
It is possible (although unconfirmed) that they were responsible for some of the damage to civilian infrastructure in the city.
