In the Krasnopillya direction, Russian forces intensified their assault operations, resulting in a localised collapse of Ukrainian lines.

In the south, Russian forces expanded their zone of control across the international border north of Dronovka, clearing the remaining Ukrainian positions near the border salient. From there, they crossed the Korova River and entrenched in the forests on the southern approaches to Ryasne, while other assault groups captured the rest of the forests around the source of the river to the east.

To the north, the Russians improved their positions along the railway line on the tactical heights and captured some forested areas in the direction of Taratutyne. Then, following extensive DRG operations, other assault groups broke through Ukrainian positions in the large forest east of Novodmytrivka, quickly clearing the entire section of the forest up to the eastern outskirts of the village which are now being fought for. Infiltrations are also taking place through the forests on the flanks north and south of Novodmytrivka to support the clearance of the settlement.

Further north, Russian forces continued slowly advancing in the border section north of Pokrovka where they captured the treeline running along the Pokrovka - Stepok road. They were also able to entrench in the eastern houses of Stepok following earlier assault operations.

In the Derhachi and Lyptsi directions, Russian forces intensified their cross-border assault operations, capturing new positions in the border regions of Kharkiv Oblast.

In the northwest, following assault operations that began around 2 months ago, Russian forces were able to gain a foothold in the village of Veterynarne and the adjacent forests, which they subsequently expanded to include the majority of the village. Fighting is now ongoing for the high-rise apartment buildings in the western part of the settlement as well as the remaining warehouses in the southern part.

In the southeast, following previous infiltrations, the Russians managed to capture a number of positions in the forest plantations between the E-105 Highway and the Kharkiv River, reaching the northern approaches to Vysoka Yaruha. Other assault groups were able to penetrate south along the western bank of the E-105 Highway, entrenching along the northern bank of the Travyanka River. This axis will likely be used to support an upcoming attempt to capture the town of Lyptsi, which Russia failed to take in mid-2024.

+ ~12.88 kmยฒ in favour of Russia.

In the Ternova and Bilyi Kolodyaz directions, Russian forces continued their assault operations and have made additional progress east of the Siverskyi Donets River.

In the west, Russian forces continued their infiltrations down the road to Izbytske, reaching the northeastern outskirts of the village.

In the east, the Russians gained a foothold in the northern part of Velyka Pysarivka and began infiltrating towards the southern part of the village where a large grey-zone has since formed. Fighting also continues in the forests east of the village.

Meanwhile in Vilcha, the situation remains very dynamic, with both Russian and Ukrainian forces holding overlapping positions in most of the town.

+ ~0.36 kmยฒ in favour of Russia.

In the Bilyi Kolodyaz direction, Russian forces continued their assault operations and have advanced in two different areas.

In the southwest, Russian forces advanced south from their positions near Marino, gaining a foothold in the western part of the large forest northeast of Vovchanski Khutory, where fighting is ongoing with the remaining Ukrainian formations in the centre of the forest.

In the northeast, the Russians entrenched in the treelines along the international west of Pishchane and are now infiltrating the village of Shabelne.

In the Velykyi Burluk direction, both Russian and Ukrainian forces have advanced.

In the north, Russian forces crossed the international border at a new section from the area of Pavlovka and Verigovka, capturing some forested areas and entering the village of Shevyakivka.

To the south, Ukrainian forces continued their counterattacks south of Chuhunivka, recapturing the forest plantations north and northwest of Ambarne, before securing two larger forests on the approaches to Milove.

To the southeast, Russian forces improved their positions in the low-lying ground southwest of Dvorichne, and in the forest plantations south of Odradne.

With Russia significantly stepping up their cross-border incursions in Sumy and Kharkiv Oblasts, here's a map showing who controls each section of the international border.

The Russian-controlled areas represent sections of the border where Russian forces have crossed and now occupy positions in Ukraine.

The contested areas represent sections where the frontline runs along the border, with each side holding their forward-most positions on their respective of the border.

The Ukrainian-controlled areas represent sections where Ukraine still holds positions in Russia.

I think the engagement rates on the posts where Ukraine was counterattacking Vs the recent Russian border incursions would make for a really interesting case study. A lot of so called โ€œPro Ukrainiansโ€ who are actually merely Pro-west and anti-Russia, are very vocal about Russia collapsing when the AFU takes a few villages, but coincidentally disappear into the shadows when Russian forces exploit the fruits of successful attrition.

It goes the other way too, it just happens that Russia is doing all the advancing since 2023.

Unusually high Russian "V2U" drone activity over Kharkiv City right now. At least 6 drones are detected, one of which (the one pictured above) has been shot down.

I forgot to post about this, but a very interesting event occurred yesterday.

4 Russian Tu-22m3 strategic bombers launched 8 Kh-22/32 cruise missiles at a target in the village of Prykolotne, Kharkiv Oblast. All missiles impacted something in this village, and several Russian reconnaissance drones were operating in the area at the time. Residents reported hearing very strong explosions that made houses "jump".

Strikes like this with expensive, strategic missiles on frontline targets are extremely rare. Prykolotne is only 16 km from the frontline. Additionally, Ukrainian authorities completely ignored the event, with the Ukrainian Air Force even omitting its existence from their daily report on Russian missile and drone usage.

In the Kupyansk direction, both Russian and Ukrainian forces have advanced.

In the southeast, Russian forces continued their assault operations west of Stepova Novosilka and managed to clear a fortified area south of the railway line. This has since forced the Ukrainians to begin withdrawing from the rest of the large salient southwest of Steopva Novosilka, with Russian forces now re-activating the southern flank of this salient in order to force a further Ukrainian withdrawal west.

To the northwest, the Russians continued advancing along the railway line from the east, capturing new fortified positions and reaching the eastern outskirts of Pischane. This, plus the Russian control over the western streets, forced the last Ukrainian holdouts to withdraw from the eastern part of village, allowing Russia to bring it under their full control.

To the west, Russian forces cleared the section of the railway line southeast of Kurylivka, and began infiltrating the industrial zone on the southern outskirts of the settlement. Other forces are infiltrating west towards Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi and southwest to the northeastern outskirts of Kivsharivka.

To the north, Ukrainian forces counterattacked east of Podoly, clearing a section of the southern part of Petropavlivka and linking up with soldiers entrenched in the eastern streets and the treelines further east. On the other hand, Russian forces continued advancing from the north, where they crossed the tributary of the Hnylytsya River and captured a section of the eastern part of the village, while other assault groups improved their positions in the village centre. They are also continuing their attempts at attacking Ukrainian positions in the southern part of the settlement from the east.

To the west, the Russians cleared the southern part of Holubivka from Ukrainian soldiers, partially reopening supplies to the Russian soldiers in and around the northern outskirts of Kupyansk. This has facilitated intensified infiltrations into northern Kupyansk along new routes, with Russian soldiers entering numerous streets in the northwestern part of the city. At the same time, partially due to Ukrainian redeployments elsewhere, Russian forces managed to re-establish some ground supply lines to the remaining Russian soldiers holding out in central Kupyansk, allowing for infiltrations to take place in the area of the Kupyansk City Central Hospital.

In the Lyman and Rai-Oleksandrivka directions, both Russian and Ukrainian forces are attacking, with Russian forces making new progress in two different areas.

In the southeast, Russian forces broke through Ukrainian positions northwest of Pazeno, clearing parts of the large forests and capturing positions in some of the forests east of Rai-Oleksandrivka. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continued counterattacking in Nykoforivka, and re-entered the village of Lypivka.

To the north, the Russians cleared the strongpoints northwest of Riznykivka and captured positions north of Kalenyky, where infiltrations to the forests further west of the village continue. Other assault groups cleared the salient southwest of Riznykivka, capturing new treeline positions there.

Further north, Russian forces intensified their infiltrations in and around Kryva Luka, increasing the grey-zone in the southern part of the village. Ukrainian forces deepened their infiltrations in Yampil, reaching the centre of the village, while the Russians began attempts at dislodging the Ukrainians from the westernmost part of Zakitne. Meanwhile, the Russians deepened their infiltrations south of Lyman, entering the northern part of Brusivka and the forests north of Staryi Karavan.

+ ~8.60 kmยฒ in favour of Russia.
