Changes on the frontline in Ukraine for March 2026:
Yellow = Russian advances
Light blue = Ukrainian advances
Russian advances:
Donetsk Oblast: ~61.85 km²
Sumy Oblast: ~59.87 km²
Zaporizhzhia Oblast: ~59.66 km²
Kharkiv Oblast: ~42.33 km²
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast: ~1.40 km²
Total: ~225.11 km² (down by 3.30%)
Ukrainian advances:
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast: ~17.04 km²
Zaporizhzhia Oblast: ~29.22 km²
Kharkiv Oblast: ~7.27 km²
Donetsk Oblast: ~29.06 km²
Sumy Oblast: ~6.82 km²
Total: ~89.41 km² (down by 76.16%).
Net changes (Russian advances minus Ukrainian advances): +135.70 km² in favour of Russia.
Note: This covers net gains for each side. Ukrainian advances that took place on territory Russia occupied within this month will simply be subtracted from the Russian total, and vice versa.

Footage showing some of the Ukrainian FP-1/2 drone strikes on Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Krai overnight.
Among the targets hit were:
- A Russian "Admiral Makarov" frigate, which can launch up to 8 Kalibr cruise missiles.
- The "Sivash" oil drilling rig (hit twice).
It's possible that the frigate's EW jammed the drone before it hit it.

An Iranian ballistic missile struck the SABIC petrochemical plant in Saudi Arabia, resulting in a large fire breaking out.
This is the larger petrochemical plant in the Middle east and the fourth largest in the world.

Another example of terrible roads in eastern Ukraine, in this case near the village of Dmytrivka, Donetsk Oblast, just west of Kramatorsk.
The car needs to slow down and even stop often because of the holes in the road, which disturbs the supply flow to Ukrainian-controlled Donbas, as well as makes the trips much less safe because of more exposure to Russian FPVs, especially in the future when they will reach this road, too.
Fortunately, roads in Donetsk Oblast aren't as terrible as the ones farther away from big cities like Kramatorsk, where renovation works are fortunately ongoing.
The video was recorded on March 24th. Currently, Russian Molniya-2 drones can reach this road.

There are rumours of the potential usage of 1-2 Russian Oreshnik IRBMs from Kapustin Yar, Astrakhan Oblast, on Ukraine in the next week. Potential targets include Kyiv, Lviv, and Starokostyantyniv Airbase.
These are just rumours, and have been reported by some people with connection with Ukrainian intelligence. Nothing is confirmed.

This is apparently a NATO intelligence assessment. There have been such assessments before that have turned out to be nothing, but its possible that we see the U.S. embassy in Kyiv put out a warning statement in the coming days.
As I said, nothing is confirmed, but the threat exists.

The Slovyansk Thermal Power Plant in the city of Mykolaivka, Donetsk Oblast, has ceased all power generation operations today due to the deteriorating security situation and approaching frontline.
Currently, the plant is just over 4 km from the frontline and is regularly attacked by Russian FPV drones and artillery.
Part of the staff will remain at the plant to ensure the transit of electricity from other regions through the electrical substations there, continue operating cooling ponds no. 1 and 2, and continue supplying water to the city of Mykolaivka.
The Slovyansk TPP was the last power plant in Ukrainian-controlled Donbas. This now means that Ukrainian-controlled Donbas will no longer produce any electricity itself, forcing the remaining liveable cities such as Slovyansk and Kramatrosk to source electricity from Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts.
