Russian forces have captured the village of Sopych, Hlukhiv direction, Sumy Oblast.

Pre-war population: ~764.
Total land area: ~3.13 km².

The fighting for Sopych lasted <3 days.

The Iranian Ministry of Health reports that more than 1,200 people have been killed and more than 10,000 people have been injured since the beginning of the war.

According to them 200 of the dead are children, and another 200 are women. 25 hospitals have been damaged, 9 of which are out of service.

An Israeli airstrike on the town of Aaitit, southern Lebanon has killed at least 4 people.

The Ukrainian aircraft circled back round in central Ukraine and are now flying past Kremenchuk, Poltava Oblast, presumably to try carry out the airstrikes again.

Nevermind. They are launching glide-bombs from Barvinkove, Kharkiv Oblast, towards the Dobropillya area of Donetsk Oblast.

The Ukrainian aircraft flew west to Lozova, Kharkiv Oblast.

The S-400 disappeared. Not sure if it hit anything. But now there's an Iskander-M threat from Taganrog, Rostov Oblast.

This also suggests that Ukraine has shifted their launch lines for their tactical aircraft from directly over Slovyansk, Donetsk Oblast, further west to the Barvinkove area, due to recent Russian advances.

In the Hlukhiv direction, Russian forces continued to advance and have carried out additional cross-border incursions into Sumy Oblast.

In the north, Russian forces advanced south across the international border into Sopych. Due to the village being very lightly defended, it was captured fairly quickly, with the fighting now shifting to the surrounding fields and treelines.

To the south, the Russians infiltrated and subsequently captured the village of Boblyivka. Fighting is also continuing for areas between BIla Bereza and the Sydorivka tract.

In the Yunakivka and Myropillya directions, Russian forces continued their assault operations and have made new progress in two different areas.

In the west, Russian forces improved their positions in the treelines southwest of Yunakivka and are trying to reach the Khrapivshchyna - Marine area. Fighting is also ongoing for the approaches to the forests north of Nova Sich.

In the east, the Russians cleared some treeline positions east of Oleksandriya and are attempting to reach the village from the west.

In the Krasnopillya direction, Russian forces continued their assault operations and have expanded their zone of control across the international border.

In the north, Russian forces crossed the border from several points north of Kolotilovka and entrenched in the forest plantations lining a gulley directly west of the infiltration points. They were also able to capture the first houses of Stepok and are engaged in fighting for the central part of the village. Meanwhile, fighting continues on the eastern approaches to Mykhailivka.

In the south, Russian forces entered the forested areas southeast of Pokrovka and captured a number of positions there. Other assault groups gained multiple new footholds in the large forests west of Vysoke and expanded their already existing foothold, forcing the Ukrainian soldiers to retreat from their remaining positions in the Popivka tract in order to avoid encirclement.

In the Ternova and Bilyi Kolodyaz directions, Russian forces continue their assault operations and have advanced in several different areas.

In the west, after capturing Zelene, Russian forces were able to establish control over the neighbouring village of Neskuchne and began attacking further southwest towards Vesele.

To the east, the Russians captured the last houses of Starytsya, ending a nearly 2-year-long battle that started when Russia first entered this area of Kharkiv Oblast in May 2024. From there, they entered the nearby forested gulleys, capturing some positions there, and are breaking through to the outskirts of Izbytske. Additionally, they improved their positions west of Starytsya, capturing some new positions in the forested gulleys there too.

To the southeast, Russian forces captured the last streets of Hrafske and the forests to the east, and secured the remaining positions in the southern part of Symynivka as well as some treelines to the east of the village. From there, they began attacks towards Verkhnya Pysarivka, capturing parts of the forests and reaching the northeastern outskirts of the village.

To the northeast, the Russians repelled Ukrainian attacks on the northeastern part of Vilcha and recaptured the northern part of the town as well as some positions to the west. Fighting is ongoing for the western and southern streets of Vilcha.

In the east, Russian forces continued advancing in the forests northeast of Vovchanski-Khutory, where they improved their positions. Fighting is ongoing for the central part of the main forest there. Meanwhile, Ukrainian SBU special forces began counterattacks in the eastern part of Vovchanski Khutory, pushing the Russians back from some positions, however Russian assault operations continue and these counterattacks are only slowing their progress.
