In the Kupyansk direction, over the last two weeks the situation has become significantly more complicated, with both Russian and Ukrainian forces carrying out assault operations.
In the southeast, Russian forces resumed their assault operations in the area of the highway, which they managed to cross and capture positions to the south of. From there, infiltrating in small groups, they managed to occupy the treelines north of Pishchane, before conducting a pincer movement, operationally encircling the Ukrainian garrison in the village. They were able to capture positions to the west and northeast of the settlement, while infiltrating the trench fortifications to the south.
From there, attacks were carried out further west down the railway line and parallel treelines, allowing for them to gain a foothold in the eastern houses of Kurylivka. Additionally, after prolonged heavy fighting, they were able to gain a foothold in the forest southeast of Petropavlivka. Ukrainian forces are attempting to counterattack in this forest, while additional Russian assault groups are attacking from newly captured positions to the northeast. Attacks are also underway on the southeastern houses of Petropavlivka from the east.
To the northwest, Russian forces once again crossed the tributary of the Hnylytsya River, recapturing parts of northern Petropavlivka. From there, they infiltrated the central part of the village, where fighting is now ongoing. Additionally, the Russians managed to cross the highway and consolidate in part of the forest east of Kupyansk, as well as in the northern streets of Podoly.
To the west, following earlier assault operations, Ukrainian forces managed to capture large parts of northeastern Kupyansk, including School No. 7 and the milk factory, significantly complicating the Russian position in the city. Clearing operations also continued in the city centre, with Ukrainian forces recapturing a number of enterprises and other buildings just north of the central market.

Current situation in Ukraine and Russia as the energy truce is supposedly being implemented:
- Communications from an unknown airbase to strategic command and control in Moscow (on the frequency: 4632 kHz) were recorded yesterday afternoon, suggesting that the first strategic aviation movements in the last 3 days took place. I'm clarifying whether this was a training mission or redeployments
- Russian Geran-2 drone usage remains fairly low. Overnight, there were attacks on targets in Kryvyi Rih, Synelnykove, Yuriivka, Khoroshe, Mykolaivka and Vasylkivka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Zaporizhzhia City and Vilnyansk in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Slovyansk and Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast, and Kyrykivka in Sumy Oblast. Kherson City and the surrounding areas has also been under intensified artillery and MLRS shelling.
- A Russian Iskander-M ballistic missile struck an unknown target near Kharkiv City.
- Russian KAB glide-bombs continue heavily striking targets in the areas of Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka and Dobropillya in Donetsk Oblast, Turnuvate, Zaliznychne, Kushuhum and Komyshuvakhha in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Interestingly, no KAB strikes have been recorded on Sumy and Kharkiv Oblasts.
- Russian Gerbera reconnaissance drones scouted out targets in Rivne and Volyn Oblasts.
- No Ukrainian long-range UAV strikes took place over the last 24 hours, which is very rare.

Also, don't be surprised if both sides make up strikes on energy infrastructure during this period.
Both Russia and Ukraine are actively attempting to paint each other as unwilling to negotiate in good faith with Trump, and will therefore both have a vested interest in fabricating events. In reality, neither will come to an agreement, and this war will be fought to its conclusion.
If we see reports of a strike on energy infrastructure, whether it's Russian or Ukraine, I beg of you to use critical thinking, and look at it from the lens of understanding that "both sides want to make the other look like they don't want peace".
Don't take reports at face value just because you think that the side you support "would never do that"... because they absolutely would.
Think for yourself and come up with your own conclusions, if conclusions are even possible. Don't let others, including the media, make your opinions for you.

Unfortunately, we live in an age where people's brains are so rotted and manipulated by social media algorithms and propaganda, that critical thinking and literally just thinking for yourself is becoming more and more rare.
Just because your favourite politician or favourite country or favourite reporter/journalist says something happened (or happened in a certain way), it doesn't make it true. Don't become accustomed to thinking a certain way just because you "trust" something. Always be sceptical and always question the narrative (to an extent, of course).
The same goes for me and my reports. Don't 100% believe something I say just because I say it. Although I don't intentionally attempt to mislead people, I'm human and I get things wrong. Cross-reference, double-check, and apply common sense.
Also, it's important to be able to say "I don't know", or "I don't have enough evidence to come to a specific conclusion", especially when it comes to cases like this energy truce. It's an crucial part of being an analyst or a free-thinking person... you can't know everything and admitting that is a strength. Sure, not being provocative and nothaving a definitive and strong opinion on a certain event may not get you the same attention and public approval as this, but it's important nonetheless.

A few hours ago, a Russian Iskander-M ballistic missile struck a target in Kharkiv Oblast, approximately in the area indicated on the map.
It's possible that the target was the Ukrainian Patriot installation which likely shot down the Russian Su-34 over Kursk Oblast yesterday, however for now this is just speculation.
If it was, then we will get a video of the strike in the near future.
