Folks, this Friday and Saturday we will have @nguyentung popping up at Ome! You can find Tung slinging shots at @citricmeetsmalic on his DE1 from @decentespressomachines if not writing for @sprudge magazine while also studying for his Master’s in Coffee Economics and Science by illycaffè.

Tung will be sharing unique coffees from his homeland, Vietnam including a Liberica, a F1 Hybrid Starmaya and THA1, a proprietary variety exclusive to Vietnam.

On Friday, join us at Ome for a tasting/cupping session with Tung’s coffees from 1230noon to 2pm. Entrance is free but limited seats, RSVP required.

For Saturday, we will be extending our hours until 6pm as Tung will be making filters from 2-6pm and has bags of these coffees for sale. (Yes, still open for our in-house bakes!)

To drop by or PM us for more info! See what Tung has to share on Vietnam’s Specialty Coffee scene first-hand.
Hey folks, do drop by this weekend as we will take a break from 29th April until 9th May, re-opening on the 10th of May.

We will be away for a company trip to Busan, Korea and supporting our 🇲🇾 Malaysian Barista Champ, Suren (he supplies us juices under Ruits Juice!) in-person this year at the World Barista Championships (WBC); the biggest event in the speciality coffee calendar. Think of it as F1 but for coffee!

Over the years, we have hosted live screenings of the WBC in our space as this was an occasion to bring coffee folk together to cheer as we put aside our differences and put our best foot forward, pushing the boundaries of coffee together while watching competitors from around the world present interesting coffees, concepts and innovations.

Originally, we were meant to go to Melbourne to watch the 2020 WBC but Covid struck and finally after pulling through these few years with all your support, we can reward the team with such a trip, again. 🙇🙇‍♀️

Do drop by this weekend or we will see you second weekend of May onwards! Cheers, folks!
Suren, our current Malaysian Barista Champ just performed at the WBC and did fantastic from today's live score. Still one day to go before all 50+ national champs complete their routines but if you missed his, you can catch it here:

Hi folks, another update from Busan. You can see the live scoring here and Suren's doing pretty well!

https://busan.wcc.coffee/wbc-live-ranking

(They only released a few segments of the scoresheet, Espresso and Signature drink are two not included so these are not final rankings FYI)

Today 20+ champs will be performing with the US, Australia and other past winning countries yet to perform. You can watch the performances live or later on YouTube.

Results will be out later today!

It's not just competitions but also the World of Coffee Show where speciality coffee show off the latest machines, coffees and innovations. One thing that we have not seen before is the Portal. A device that measure the flow of your espresso/filter coffee output and tells you how much you are extracting (well or badly) from your coffee.

However, it's still a prototype and will be released on Kickstarter soon!

Their IG is here : https://www.instagram.com/belka_coffee_official

Suren got in! Woohoo! Congrats to the other top 16/Semifinalists. Good showing from ASEAN/Asia this comps so far!

Tomorrow will be the semifinals with the finals/top 6 on Saturday. Live stream is on https://busan.wcc.coffee
Here are the finalists for this year's WBC.

Suren didn't make it to the final 6 but he certainly inspired some new fans!

Proud to be able to cheer Suren two times over these three days in Busan and have him represent 🇲🇾!
