🔶️ Reuters reports that this indicates talks have probably failed. They cited a quote from an official involved in the talks: "The latest round of mediation in Cairo is near to collapse."

🔶️ For the first time, elements in the cabinet aside from Netanyahu are convinced the talks have failed. Gallant said, ""We are observing worrying signs that Hamas does not intend to reach an agreement with us. This means strong military action in Rafah will begin in the very near future and in the rest of the Strip."

🔶️ Amichai Stein of Kann News said that more than one member of the cabinet has told him the operation in Rafah is imminent. Meanwhile, Moriah Asraf of Channel 13 reports that all the factions in the Israeli government agree that the chances for a deal are now close to zero.

🔶️ It seems safe to say that the talks in Cairo failed. Once more, the mediators appear to have been spreading false optimism.
