Have you ever seen an unmarried person wearing a wedding ring? What do you think of it? ——— No I haven't. Actually, I'd have no idea if I have. (a) I don't notice wedding rings, and (b) I probably wouldn't know whether they're married. I think it's fine, whatever floats their boat. I'm glad they have the gumption to think/act outside the box of tradition/conformity. On the other hand, it is a little deceiving.
