hiii I just wanted to ask: which pieces of media do you believe have shaped your general taste? ——— (a lengthy response) to tell you the truth this is quite tricky to answer. my mind always seem to go blank when i'm asked this nshs but i have always been enamoured with films though! i am not gonna go into specifics but it's always been a huge part of me growing up. i used to read in hs but honestly, i have always felt conflicted re: my preferences back then, so i don't consider it to contribute to my general taste bc it was merely a phase. suffice to say, what i think has greatly played a part in my taste- to its expanse- tend to be the ones i have recently been engrossed in (and by recently i mostly mean from my pandemic reads/watches to now). i feel like i have a broader liking compared to when i only used to go for a tunneled selection of media & strict (not necessarily strict but you get it) compliance to confine myself with only the ones i initially know i will Love. bc i have been trying to experience lots of narratives in different styles & forms, i'm able to consume media that are outside of my preferences, and still end up loving it. there's a vast, vast array of great ones and i feel like this is the only way to know what you will love. at least, that's how i feel! i have been gabbing on but i hope my answer suffices nhnhshs
