I like to think Number 12 gained a crush on Dexter because he’s the first person who has shown him affection in such a long time; he knows it’s wrong because Dexter is only a little boy and that’s literally himself from the past, but he can’t help how he feels! Dexter likes to tease 12 about his crush saying how wrong it is, but truly he isn’t against the idea because there’s no one more perfect for him than himself ;) ——— That is so cute. Genuinely, your brain, mind, and thoughts are so huge. Contrary to popular fictional belief I can't see Dex being interested in incest in the sense that he would consider it a waste to potentially screw up the family's "smart gene", yet ironically he isn't opposed to selfcest for the same reasoning you just described..
