David Crane (born August 13, 1957) is an American writer and producer. He is one of the creators of the television sitcom Friends, along with his longtime friend Marta Kauffman.Crane was born in Philadelphia, the son of veteran WCAU Philadelphia news anchor Gene Crane and his first wife Joan.
