Biden made the remarks at a fundraiser in San Francisco, California, when he brought up a false claim that Trump had said that injecting bleach could help treat the coronavirus. It was then he said he wished his top political rival had injected himself “a little bit.” In Biden’s words, Remember him saying the best thing to do is just inject a little bleach in your arm? That’s what he said. And he meant it. I wish he had done a little bit himself.” Biden’s claim that Trump suggested that people get injected with disinfectant as a treatment for COVID-19 has been spread since 2020 by the left-wing media and Democrats, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki who tried to use the claim to cover up the fact that more Americans died from coronavirus under Biden as of 2021. However, Trump never suggested that anyone should inject bleach into their arm. Instead, he was making a reference to experimental UV technology and how it could possibly be used in the human body. As seen in the White House transcript at the time, then-President Trump said, “So I asked Bill a question that probably some of you are thinking of, if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous – whether its ultraviolet or just very powerful light – and I think you said that that hsn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way, and I think you said you’re going to test that too. It sounds interesting.”
