De-dollarization gains momentum

The ASEAN+3 bloc of nations approved a landmark financial assistance mechanism this week that ditches the greenback for the yuan and other regional currencies

On Sunday, finance ministers and central bank governors from the Asean+3 nations approved a new mechanism designed to offer quick financial assistance to economies experiencing urgent balance-of-payments challenges, known as the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation (CMIM) Rapid Financing Facility.

Notably, unlike previous mechanisms that relied on the US dollar, the CMIM Rapid Financing Facility will use the Chinese yuan and other regional currencies.

To me these “I want to negotiate peace “ games is a waste if time. Russian law forbids the Kremlin from compromising on the Donetsk Republic, as constitutionally, it is now part of Russia. And the Nazis clearly made it plain they are not giving up any territory of part of any deal. Which means there will be no peace, and Russia will have to win this war outright. Putin doesn’t need to show anybody that he wants an end to the conflict, the problem for him is that the west doesn’t take him seriously, he’s considered a tyrant and a war criminal to them, and they wish him to go away at any cost. So let’s cut out this fucking pretence.

Trump is just a nonstop roller coaster of wild decision making. It feels like it should be 9D chess with all the illogical moves, but he seems to be losing everywhere. Flip flopping only creates half assed attempts at achieving objectives. I think it’s because he truly doesn’t care about any of this, he wants to be holding rallies but instead is dealing with other nations problems. He’s delegating to the same swamp people as before and that’s why you’re seeing this weird mix of Neocon/Populism.

Providing arms to Israel to bomb Gaza: Talks about making it a tourist attraction: still providing arms: randomly decides to potentially recognize the Palestinian state.

The whole thing makes no sense and yet the outcome is exactly the same.

🚨🇺🇸🇾🇪 NYT: Several American F-16s and an F-35 fighter jet were nearly struck by Houthi air defenses

In an explosive report, the New York Times has revealed President Trump ordered the end of the Anti-Houthi campaign as a result of their increasing capacity to inflict causalities on the U.S. as well as the unsustainable expenditure of munitions.

Among the many startling revelations of the article:

▪️General Michael Kurilla, commander of the the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), had been gunning for the Houthis since November 2023. According to NYT, he proposed an eight- to 10-month campaign in which Air Force and Navy warplanes would take out Houthi air defense systems before mountain a targeted assassination campaign. Over 18 months later, it’s safe to say Kurilla was gravely mistaken.

▪️In those first 30 days of the operation, the Houthis shot down seven American MQ-9 drones (around $30 million each), hampering Central Command’s ability to track and strike the militant group. Several American F-16s and an F-35 fighter jet were nearly struck by Houthi air defenses, making real the possibility of American casualties, multiple U.S. officials said.

▪️The cost of the operation was staggering. The Pentagon had deployed two aircraft carriers, additional B-2 bombers and fighter jets, as well as Patriot and THAAD air defenses, to the Middle East, officials acknowledged privately. By the end of the first 30 days of the campaign, the cost had exceeded $1 billion, the officials said.

▪️So many precision munitions were being used, especially advanced long-range ones, that some Pentagon contingency planners were growing increasingly concerned about overall stocks and the implications for any situation in which the United States might have to ward off an attempted invasion of Taiwan by China.
