September was a eventful month for Zilliqa!

At TOKEN2049, we announced the strategic collaboration between Zilliqa Group and EMURGO, the commercial arm of the Cardano blockchain, to enhance interoperability between Zilliqa and Cardano.

We also launched Jasper, our proto-testnet, marking the first step in our journey towards Zilliqa 2.0.

We’re delighted to share that Zilliqa has successfully implemented a halving mechanism for mining rewards, marking a key milestone in our transition towards Proof-of-Stake with Zilliqa 2.0.

This move accelerates the shift from Proof-of-Work while unlocking surplus ZIL, which will be reallocated to strengthen network security and support community initiatives.

Stay tuned for more details on how this surplus will empower the Zilliqa community and fuel future development.
