It has been a productive and exciting August for the Zilliqa ecosystem. The major highlight from the last month was the formation of the Zilliqa Group, a corporate structure that unlocks a framework for integrated ventures building exciting solutions on the Zilliqa network.

Today at TOKEN2049, we announced a new multi-year strategic alliance with Google Cloud.

This collaboration serves to enhance the resilience and scalability of the Zilliqa blockchain, benefiting the wider ecosystem and ventures within Zilliqa Group.

The agreement will also see Google Cloud join Zilliqa as a Staked Seed Node (SSN) operator, playing a key role in the decentralised network.

Two new governance proposals are now open for voting on Snapshot, with a focus on enhancing network efficiency and managing ZIL inflation as we move forward to Zilliqa 2.0.

The first proposal aims to temporarily eliminate shards until the more efficient sharding infrastructure is launched with Zilliqa 2.0. This move will significantly boost cost-efficiency and decentralisation in the interim.
