At first, I wanted to keep this mod just for myself, but after seeing the feedback, I’m absolutely thrilled by it all—I never thought everyone would like my project this much.

I’ve read all your comments, feature requests, and bug reports. Thanks to your feedback, I now know exactly what needs to be fixed and added in the next version (yes, the “Library” button and screen scaling fixes are at the top of my list!).

If you are experiencing any issues, try these quick fixes:

Music stops in the background: Go to your phone's Settings -> Apps -> Spot Player -> Battery, and select "Unrestricted."

"Something went wrong" on the login screen: Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data (or vice versa) and try logging in again.

Note: Since this app is a wrapper around the web version of Spotify, any inherent lag on the web side is out of my control at the moment.

🚀 New Alpha Update: Complete UI Overhaul! (ALPHA TEST) 🎧

Hello everyone! First of all, a massive thank you to everyone who subscribed, sends bug reports, and writes words of support. You guys are the best! 🩵

I'm still working hard on the app's overall stability, so I've completely overhauled the code over the last few days. I added a bunch of highly requested features and completely rewrote the UI logic!

🔥 What's working:

Web Page Force Refresh: Added a refresh button for rare cases when a black screen occurs and Spotify fails to load.

Native Sleep Timer: Works perfectly in the background. The timer is visible right in the player panel, and you can add/subtract minutes on the fly.

Universal Layout: Reworked the player layout to fit properly on both tall flagships and smaller phones.

Smart Button Colors: Buttons now auto-adapt to dark or dim album art to stay bright and clearly visible.

Library Fix: The library in the web view now opens correctly and expands to full screen.

Web Optimization: Removed heavy Spotify animations to make the app smoother and save resources.

Updated Settings Menu: Reworked the panel with new clean icons.

Working Repeat Mode: Mode switching works as intended.

🛠 Still in progress (will be ready for final release):
Shuffle Button: Right now it only tracks status from the web. Full toggle functionality will be added later.

Freezing on Ads: I know the player freezes on ads for some international users. The ad-blocking logic is being rewritten, so bugs might still pop up in this alpha. (Bluetooth and other features are also planned)

🧪 Testing details: This build is still raw, so bugs are expected. I'm not pushing this to auto-updates, just dropping the clean APK below.

What to look out for:

Tweaked the top UI

Just a quick heads-up so I don't have to reply to the same question in the comments:
If you spam the skip button too fast, Spotify flags you as a bot. When that happens, it starts auto-skipping tracks or plays them for only 9 seconds.

How to avoid this: Just wait 1 or 2 seconds before tapping the skip button again.

If it’s already happening: Just restart the app. Sometimes you might need to wait a few minutes for it to chill out.

Hey everyone, I know the app is completely broken right now and music won't play. Spotify rolled out an update that broke our setup.

I’m already looking into the logs and trying to find a proper workaround to bypass these new restrictions.

🚀Quick Dev Update 🚀

Hey guys! Been a bit quiet for the last 3 days, mostly because I’ve been deep in the trenches building a new project called Yuma (powered by the YT Music backend) and rewriting the entire UI and architecture from scratch.

I’ve shifted priorities a bit. Let's face it: Spotify keeps locking down their web players, and their free mobile tier is just an ad-infested, laggy disaster. I wanted something fast, native, and completely clean. Because of this, the Spot project is on hold for now, though I can always return to it if the opportunity arises.

Here’s a first look at the beta UI. The interface is heavily inspired by a premium, minimalist aesthetic with super responsive layouts.

For Spotify Users:
Don't worry, I know most of you run on Spotify. Down the line, I plan to build a native playlist migration tool so you can sync or import your library seamlessly without losing your tracks.

It’s still in early beta, but the visual foundation is coming together nicely. Next milestones include connecting lyric providers, AI integrations, and a ton of overall polish.
