On June 16, 2024, Japan announced a potential increase in entrance fees for foreign visitors to Himeji Castle 🏯🇯🇵

Here’s what you need to know:
1️⃣ The entrance fee is to be set around US$30 (~S$40.54) for foreigners & US$5 (~S$6.66) for residents in 2025.
2️⃣ Revenue from the entrance fee will be used to cover the castle’s maintenance cost.
3️⃣ The entrance fee was last raised in 2015, from 600 yen (~S$5.11) to the current 1,000 yen (~S$8.51).
