🟒 β€œMake” vs. β€œDo” β€” What’s the Difference?

πŸ‘€ Many English learners get confused between make and do, but here’s a quick way to remember the difference πŸ‘‡

βœ… Use make when you create or produce something.

Examples: make a cake, make a mistake, make a plan

βœ… Use do when you perform an action or a job.

Examples: do homework, do the dishes, do your best

πŸ“βš οΈ Tip:
Think of make as β€œbringing something into existence” and do as β€œcarrying something out.”

βœ…Understanding the Differences: "No," "None," and "Not Any"

⚠️In English, the words "no," "none," and "not any" may seem similar, but they serve distinct purposes.

β˜„οΈ"No"
Used as a determiner or adjective to indicate the absence of something. It often negates nouns.
Example:
β€œThere is no cake left.”
This means that there is not a single piece of cake available.

β˜„οΈ"None"
Used as a pronoun. It signifies the absence of all members of a group or category.
Example:
β€œI have three cookies, but none of them are chocolate.”
Here, it implies that out of all the cookies, there are zero chocolate cookies.

β˜„οΈ"Not Any"
Generally functions as a negative expression to deny the existence of something. It can be used to modify plural nouns.
Example:
β€œThere are not any apples in the fridge.”
This states that the fridge contains zero apples.

Creatine might be doing more for your brain than you realise 🧠 πŸ€”

πŸ“Louisa Nicola explains that creatine is not just a muscle supplement. The body produces only a small amount naturally, and a standard five gram dose mainly supports muscle, with limited amounts reaching the brain.

πŸ“Because it must cross into the brain, higher doses have been studied for cognitive support. Louisa also points to evidence suggesting creatine may help protect the brain during stress and injury.

🎧 I just uploaded a new video about one of the most effective ways to improve listening and fluency: shadowing.
Instead of passively listening, you repeat a short audio immediately after hearing it, matching the rhythm, speed, and sound of the speaker. It feels a little awkward at first, but that’s exactly what helps your brain adapt and start hearing real phrases more naturally.
