This year has been a journey of self discovery and learning to trust Godโ€™s timing. I have discovered more about who I am, what truly matters to me, and how patience and faith can carry me through challenges. 2017 taught me that growth is not always easy, but it is worth it.

Interesting.... when I read the post, I really started thinking about many things I want to share. A lot has happened and Iโ€™ve learned so much this year especially in building my career. But one thing I want to share with you and something I surely encountered in my life this year, is

โœจ Reflecting on 2017 โœจ

โ€œA lot of people are going nowhere fast because direction is more important than speed.โ€

This is my third year of reflection ๐Ÿ“ , after 2015 and 2016, and now 2017. Looking back, I can truly say this year has been amazing. Iโ€™ve achieved most of my goals, faced challenges that shaped me, and learned valuable life lessons from both my highs and lows.

Through every moment, Iโ€™ve seen how God has been with me - guiding my steps, blessing me with what I need, showing up in difficult times, and being my closest friend in loneliness. One thing this reflection taught me is just how blessed I am in every aspect of my life. For that, I am deeply grateful. ๐Ÿ™

Time flies so fast! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I still remember arriving at the main gate of the university on my very first day, and now Iโ€™ve completed my second year in 2017. Life isnโ€™t about being stuck in yesterday , itโ€™s about growing, learning, and moving forward with diligence and focus.

This year, Iโ€™ve used my potential better than ever before, and I can confidently call that growth ๐ŸŒฑ. Even looking back at my photos from the cloud and social media, I can see how much Iโ€™ve changed and evolved, inside and out.

Also, I owe you all an apology ๐Ÿ™. I havenโ€™t posted here for the past 9+ days because I took some time off for deep reflection. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

One of my greatest blessings is having you all in this community โค๏ธ. Your support, feedback, reactions, and willingness to try my projects mean so much to me. Iโ€™m truly grateful to be part of this universal family.

As we stand on the eve of the new Ethiopian year, my prayer and hope are simple:
โœจ Letโ€™s make this year our best yet.
โœจ Letโ€™s work hard on our fundamentals.
โœจ Eliminate laziness, dare to face challenges, and draw closer to God.
โœจ Remain disciplined and purpose-driven.

If itโ€™s the Lordโ€™s will, Iโ€™ll push my limits and strive to make this new year truly count! ๐Ÿš€

Happy New Year, my family! ๐ŸŽ‰
May 2017 leave us wiser, and may 2018 bring us growth, blessings, and fulfillment. ๐Ÿ€

Today, Iโ€™m thrilled to share that I finished my Udemy course! Completing this course has been a rewarding experience, and Iโ€™ve learned the importance of consistency and persistence in finishing what we start.

Consistent upgrading of our skills truly leads to significant growth and brings us one step closer to our goals. Iโ€™m proud of this achievement and the certificate I earned ๐Ÿ‘

I want to take a moment to thank God for this achievement. His guidance and support have been instrumental in my journey. I also extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has encouraged me along the way. Your support means the world to me๐Ÿ˜Š!

Today was such a great day! I started my first class, and it was quite an experience. I had a hard time sitting for two hours and focusing on what our instructor was saying; my break time was definitely calling! But since this is a good habit to develop, Iโ€™m hopeful that I will improve.

By the way, the sunsets in Hawassa are absolutely stunning every day! Iโ€™m back now, and I apologize for not keeping you updated on my side.

btw aren't this pictures amazing ?

Hello friends! Today, I was cooking something cool and spent over two hours on Figma trying to figure things out. In the end, I managed to attend two different classes, which was amazing!

Iโ€™ve been reflecting on how important time management is in multitasking environments. I really noticed that today. What do you think? Iโ€™d love to hear your point of view!

Today's Lesson: Finding Beauty in Brokenness - The Kintsugi Philosophy

Today was incredibly productive! I attended my class with full energy and even found some free time to finish my course on professional resilience from Udemy. It was truly eye-opening, focusing on how to be resilient in challenging professional environments.

A powerful lesson I learned was inspired by the traditional Japanese repair method known as kintsugi. In kintsugi, broken pottery๐Ÿฏ pieces are mended with lacquer and adorned with gold or silver powder, transforming them into limited edition, unique and very valuable works of art. This practice teaches us that our โ€˜breaksโ€™ can enhance our worth, reminding us that imperfections and challenges can lead to greater beauty and strength.

We also explored the concept of "failing forward" and the importance of confronting our fears and failures, what I like to call the "2 Fs." It was a great experience, and I'm grateful to God for successfully completing the course and earning my certificate!๐Ÿฅณ

Additionally, I dedicated time to my new MVP project, which needs focusing on state management using Riverpod. While it can be challenging, especially when the syntax and business logic become complex....Iโ€™m enjoying the cool features it offers. I admit I sometimes feel like giving up, but pushing through with Godโ€™s support has been rewarding.๐Ÿ”ฅ

Thank you all for being here, supporting my journey, and providing constructive feedback. It means a lot to me, and I'm truly thankful for your encouragement!๐Ÿ˜Š

๐ŸŒŸ Wisdom from the Professional Resilience Course ๐ŸŒŸ

I want to share some wisdom (lessons) from the course I completed yesterday on Professional Resilience by Maureen Falvey.

One story that truly stood out to me was about Kintsugi, Japanโ€™s ancient art of repairing broken pottery with gold. Instead of hiding the cracks, this technique highlights them, turning flaws into beauty. Thatโ€™s resilience. Thatโ€™s life.

Here are some golden lessons I took away:

๐Ÿ”น WOOP Model (Wish, Outcome, Obstacles, Plan) โ€“ This simple yet powerful framework helps transform dreams into actionable steps.

Wish: Identify what you truly want to achieve. This is your goal or aspiration.
Outcome: Visualize the best possible outcome of achieving this wish. What will success look like?
Obstacles: Acknowledge the internal and external barriers that may hinder your progress. This step is crucial for preparing for challenges.
Plan: Create a concrete plan to overcome the identified obstacles. This includes specific actions you'll take to move toward your goal.
๐Ÿ”น Failing Forward โ€“ Embrace failure as a stepping stone. Fail early, fail smart, and keep moving. The aim isnโ€™t to avoid mistakes but to learn and grow from them.

๐Ÿ”น Resilience in Perspective โ€“ The pace of change will never again be as slow as it is today. Tomorrow will bring more challenges, so flexibility and adaptability must be non-negotiable.

๐Ÿ”น Mindset Blockers โ€“ Often, itโ€™s not external factors but internal ones that hold us back:

Our self-interpretations
Assumptions that the past dictates the present
Limiting beliefs we accept about ourselves
The victim mentality that drains our power
๐Ÿ”น Communication Matters โ€“ A staggering 93% of conflict arises not from malice but from misunderstanding. This realization hit me hard.

At the end of the day, resilience isnโ€™t just about bouncing back, itโ€™s about bouncing forward. It involves owning our failures, learning from them, and emerging stronger in the process.

If you take away one thing from this, let it be this:
๐Ÿ’ก Donโ€™t hide your cracks. Fill them with gold.
